CONS: The breakfast buffet was lacking. Not many breakfast options, menu just felt scant. The buffet coffee is instant, which isn't the worse thing but not the best either. I overheard the manager (?) of the restaurant upstairs charge a traveler to borrow a reusable bowl and spoon. You cannot bring in outside food. The hallway on the 4th floor smelled like the faint scent of a sewage leak (but otherwise everywhere else was not smelly). I realized after staying here that Lub D is a chain of hostels around the globe, and I definitely felt the "corporate" vibe of this place (even though there's art around the space to make it seem not corporate (but like, we know)). The elevators take a *very* long time as it is a building with 13 floors and with many people. Final thing, for us hostel folks, it is ok for staff not to refer to us with formalities, like "ma'am". This is more of a cultural thing, so I understand. But it is ok to just have staff say "hello" and leave the "ma'am" and "sir" out of it. I felt very uncomfortable with it, and I can't imagine I am the only one.

PROS: Rooms were very nice, cozy, felt safe. Super A/C in rooms. Curtains on beds, sufficient space and rooms and hostel bathrooms equally well maintained/ clean. There is security outside of the building.

Like others have mentioned, the elevators are very slow.

Good location, clean & comfortable room. Family room was perfect for group of 3 friends.

It really smelled moldy in my room, got some breathing difficulties because I’m sensitive for mold. And I ordered once food and it tasted funky, like old.

Really nice bunk beds, probably the best I have had in any hostels. Sturdy and comfortable and proper stairs to upper bed. And really clean and very good lockers for your stuff. Excellent.

Bathrooms were very ordinary- showers overflowed and bathroom/showers were quite dirty. Regularly out of toilet paper. Wait for the lift was often extensive. Lockers for the bags do not have a bottom in them so things could be access from reaching under. If someone wanted to they could have taken my bag out the bottom of my locked locker. Sheets are not provided, blankets only which I am not a fan of.

Great range of lighting options, locker box to lock whilst charging electronics was great, rooms were beautiful with stairs for top bunks which was fantastic. Modern looking and space was quite clean. The meal that I paid for in the restaurant was 10/10 and one of my best meals in the Philippines. View from rooftop bar is very nice.

This is definitely a hostel and feels this way - I was traveling with a baby and definitely heard people getting back from partying in the middle of the night etc. because the walls to the hallway were a bit thin. So just make sure you are okay with that. Also, the rooms were not cleaned super well and I feel like some of the linens were quite old. I think there is some room for improvement here. Also there were VERY long wait times for the elevators as there are clearly too few elevators for the number of people using them.

Pretty decent price for what you get and the common areas are nice. Staff are also very nice!

No free water Not able to eat /drink outside food or drinks in the hostel. Bathroom, showers didn't drain. Only 2 lifts, can take a while.

Comfy beds, big rooms with lots of storage space and lockers. Hairdryers and irons for use. Great views from roof top

The king bed wasn’t a king size bed but with two single bed combined it together. The comfort room water heater not really working.

- minus only for the showers - they are often used by guests, so it is difficult to keep them perfectly clean

- in dormitory room, everyone has their own large locker for suitcases and hangers and a small cabinet next to the bed, e.g. for documents/wallet - nice staff at the 24-hour reception - a few beds in the room - but you feel comfortable - a lot of space - they change the towel - in the bathroom you don't have to wait in line for a shower/toilet - the staff takes out the garbage and washes the floor on a regular basis - on the roof - skybar - you can eat breakfast, lunch or have a drink - a common place to relax - good localization

Elevators, taking too long. Bathroom, the water from the shower head is getting on the wood floor; glass door could have prevented it or a more elevated floor.

The private room made me feel comfortable that it gave me good sleep. Location is great its close to a lot of great places. Staffs, specially the guards are very friendly and they would assist you under no circumstances. Facility overall is nice, theres a small playroom at the lobby. Where my friends used while waiting for me.
