Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaSadly the property is a bit run down - we had water issues a few times meaning no flushing toilet or shower, electricity not running all night and of course they warn no wifi ( for the price of a drink you can go to the next door resort). Would love to give a ten but it does need a bit of updating.
Beautiful quiet location with easy access to snorkelling days on the water - glorious sunsets and absence of development and tourist scene

Simple but very large bungalows Staff were very helpful and sorted out transfer & met us at night to guide us down the very dark road to our accommodation (they provided torches) Banana pancakes in the morning was lovely Beautiful location 🌴 great hammocks to chill in Also next to MarieJoy was the Prince John hotel which we had some nice meals in too, just to mix things up and that was a very lovely setting - the atmosphere was a bit nicer for dinner over there and they have BBQ on the beach You can get a boat to port Barton or hire a motorbike but the road is very bumpy. One night we had food and drinks in port Barton and got a tuk tuk to the top of the road and then just walked down which was no problem. The lights go off in the morning (because solar powered and no WiFi but that didn't bother us and you can go next door to Prince John to use their facilities have a coffee and use WiFi)

AustraliaPretty secluded so you must be able to drive a motorbike on a really bumpy, bad road, or pay to take a boat to town. Food at the restaurant could be better for the price.
Beautiful property with friendly staff (and 5 cute puppies). Really nice big room/bathroom and everything very clean. Nice little beach bar at night.

PhilippinesThe rooms are basic and could do a bit of a renovation though, but they were comfortable. The structure does not really have a beach vibe and there is no comfortable common space to hang out in. The main building/reception area only has dining tables. No couch or lounge area.
Great stay at Mariejoy. Staff was super helpful and would go above and beyond for the guests. Location is great too, right by the beach. Super quiet and tranquil. It's a bit far from Port Barton, which is actually great if you want a quiet place to relax in.

United Arab EmiratesThe staff was exceptionally kind. They went the extra mile to make our stay the best. It was also one of our friend’s birthdays and the staff, in particularly Matt, Pat, and Evy, helped us with putting up decorations and just making everything look beautiful for her day! The room was also very clean and the bathroom was very big. We had a lot of comfort. The sunsets were beautiful!!! It felt like we had our little private island :) We would love to come back!

United Kingdomthis is an escape from the rest of the world and with that you have to accept to let go of some ‘comforts’ - electricity is limited, no wifi and lots of lizards, beetles, sand flies etc.
there are lots of reviews complaining about the location and sure if you want to see port Barton, you should stay there as it’s not super easy to get to. however! we loved our stay here for the serenity of small nao nao beach ,you can fully switch off and relax. the biggest highlight was how friendly the staff are! Matt has the most wonderful smile and laugh it made us smile and Kim was also wonderful in helping us decide where to go next on our trip. finally, I’ll be thinking about the banana pancakes when I’m back home! I had them every day!

Francedifficult to access, we had a car to be more free but the road is very bumpy ( SUV needed). however the car allowed us to visit secluded areas, avoiding the typical boat tours with all the tourists :) . if you don’t have a car remember that there is a 1000 pesos fee if you want to take the boat to visit around. Food is ok but nothing special, the restaurants of the other hotels are better. one advice would be to add maybe a bar at the beach with light lounge music to have a drink or so because nothing is happening at night and it gets a bit lonely and boring… we often ended up having a drink in other hotels that had music and a small beach bar to enjoy the sunset and meet people. Another thing to know: there is no electricity during the day and the hotel does not have internet. very tricky for my boyfriend because he had some work to do.. the gsm network was very poor so he had to go the a nearby hotel at the end of the beach that actually has Wireless and electricity during the day to be able to catch up with some work. thankfully the boss there was ok with him using wifi and charge computers/ phones even though we were not guests. although the use of solar panel is great, the lack of wireless and electricity can be tricky when the weather is not good to be honest.. would be good to store more energy with more panels/batteries in order to provide some electricity during the day as well maybe.
great staff, super helpful and good family vibes. always happy to help. amazing view on a white sand beach. good location to walk to bigaho falls and kayak to some islands. good size bungalows, comfortable :)

Francethe beach is beautiful, the family managing the place is so nice ! it was really quiet, amazing place. the private tour was perfect, with really great food (honestly best we hab on the island) and nice team. you need to have cash with you, and the ATM’s are not that close to the place / don’t work : the “boss” was not really helpful about this so we had to do a PayPal transfer to another hotel to have the cash at the end of the stay. this can be easily improved. also, the food is quite expensive so we advise that you go to the other restaurants on the beach, the also have more options.

Germanythe only way to access the place is apparently by boat but it’s not for free. you have to pay 1500 php if you’re a couple and 1000 php per cottage if you are more people which is a lot considering that the guests of the other hotels next door get the transfer for free. at the end of our stay we discover that there is a small (very bumpy) road connecting the place to port Barton, if we had known before we would have rent our own motorcycle and spent less money. also the quality of the restaurant is not the best
we really enjoyed our stay there. it’s very quiet and relaxing. the rooms are very clean and the staff is very friendly. they offer massages and kayaks and island hopping service directly there to make your stay more pleasant

United KingdomThere was very little that we didnt like. It would be good if the breakfasts were included. The boat transfer was a bit expensive for just us as couple on our own, 1500 peso each way, its not owned by the resort.
The location is just outside Port Barton, a short boat trip gets you there. Its very good and pretty quiet. The bungalows are large and well built, the resturant and food was also good. The staff are very good, kind, polite snd accomodating, especially Tess who was in charge whilst we stayed there. The island hopping is great in this area and its less busy and cheaper than El Nido. The sunsets are 100% amazing!

BelgiumIt's important to know that you can only reach the resort by boat, so if you're planning on going anywhere you always have to arrange a boat with the staff. Also, it's impossible to swim there because the sea is full of rocks.

PhilippinesThe rooms have solar panels that charge during the day, hence there is no electricity inside the room during the day, which is fine. BUT, during 2 nights out of our 3 nights there, they cut off the electricity also at 10PM so: room gets hot (can't use the fan), can't charge phones etc. We didnt like this part because it was done deliberately and of course you need to wait until morning to ask that they turn it back on.
The place is very peaceful and clean. You can chill by the beach, enjoy the sunset, take a kayak ride.
