How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

2 minute walk from the beach. And a 5-10 min walk from all the bars and nightlife. Staff was very friendly and very helpful giving lots of good information and always offering coffees.

A bit far away from the main road
Momo and Wilma make you feel like home. Very cool hostel. You can book the excursion with them, they give you tips about restaurants, things to do etc. Also, they will call your tuktuks when you need it. Very social hostel with great vibes. Very clean and comfortable.

The staff were incredibly friendly, the hostel has a family type feel to it. They have options for snorkeling and the canyoneering where the companies pick you up directly from the hostel. The beds were comfortable with a curtain for privacy

The hostel is highly recommended. Momo and her staff are so friendly and helpful. The hostel is a little far from all the restaurants and bars, but it is easy to reach on foot or by scooter. Scooters can be booked at the accommodation, as can tours. Everything is very clean and we felt very comfortable!

Everything was totally good. But be aware of the cold showers
MOMO herself was the best part of our stay. She went out of her way to make us feel good and comfortable. She truly is the best host ever!! Walking distance to great food and snorkeling places. We got a great deal of help with planing our trip

It's a small place with all the necessities. But that's all I needed
The staff are such great people and they'll treat you like a friend. They give advice on where to visit and will book any tours your looking for. Definitely recommend if you want a quiet atmosphere. Big up Momo!

Beds were comfortable and clean. Bathroom and shower area were big and clean. Friendly staff that cannot do enough for you and were always around to help. Taxi to cebu airport is best price in Moalboal.

If anything it would just be the dirt road! 😂
Fantastic welcoming hostel. Momo and family/friends were just the best. Lovely husky called jack and 2 kittens free WiFi water and coffee. The pod/bed was large enough and comfy and you had electric charging and a light. Showers and toilets were good too. Really friendly place with nice travellers whilst I was there. Swam off the beach with sea turtles just down the road.

Nowhere to cook. It is down a quiet road and although it’s only 10/15 mins from town centre it’s not great on your own at night.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming, all you had to do was sit in the chill area and talk to Momo or Wilomena. Bathrooms and showers were immaculately clean! Very social and warm.

The shower pressure was not the best but it was fine!
The outside sitting space is so nice!! There is a good atmosphere. I’ve met great travelers here ;)

The staff were very accommodating and Momo was very welcoming. They have the most adorable kittens and dog to love! The bed was comfy and clean and the showers were good and clean, as well as the bathroom. It was easy to book tours as well as bikes and tricycles when needed. There was space to meet people but it was still quite quiet which was a nice mix as the social areas were not next to the dorms.

Location is not bad, but it’s not close to town either (good on a scooter). It’s maybe a 15 min walk? Ish. Still good

Everything was great! All areas are very clean, beds are comfortable and the common space is really nice. Free coffee in the mornings is amazing. The staff is great and you feel directly at home. Would definitely recommend staying here, I’d stay here again for sure!

Shower and wash hand area needs improvement I think, sink clogged and shower barely working properly.
Atmosphere and staff make the difference on here. Momo as well as Wilma were amazing. Bed are comfy and room are equipped with the necessary stuff.

There was no breakfast at the hostel but there was a great place they recommended around the corner.
The staff was very nice and the common utility's are clean. Free refills on you water bottle and complimentary coffee and tea.
