Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNo complaints! There are a lot of comments about the stairs so here’s my take- the stairs weren’t much of an issue for us. You could try to request a lower room if you’re worried about them, but there’s no elevator so you will have to take at least some stairs.
Beautiful property, great location. No street access but the staff was incredibly helpful with our bags and arranging transportation to and from the airport. Short walk along the beach to reach the vanilla beach shops, where you can easily get a trike/taxi. Amazing sunsets every night, the ocean is crystal clear and warm with lots of little fish if you like to snorkel, adorable (& very friendly) dogs all around. Pool is only for hotel guests, which was nice. The restaurants were good with a great selection of drinks- try the pineapple basil daiquiri!- and the breakfast (banana pancakes) was delicious.

PhilippinesThe whole stay was fine. There was nothing that stands out as being a problem.
Staff was very helpful. Always someone available to offer support and recommendations. The areas around the pool and lounge are perfect. Allows you to escape the crowd of the beach and still enjoy the beauty of the area. Being able to use the kayak was nice and the seating area down on the beach is a nice option.

United StatesFrom the sand to my room was 140 steps up stairs with no elevator. I understand that it probably isn’t possible to install one, but all older guests need to be ready and it obviously isn’t handicapped accessible
The view was spectacular. The staff was incredibly helpful.

United KingdomI wouldn’t consider this a negative for us personally but there are a lot of steps up to some of the rooms. Ultimately it’s worth it for the views of the place but beware if you are a less mobile traveller.
Comfy beds, gorgeous rooms with stunning views, peaceful and calm, infinity pool is perfectly sized and has fab views, nice breakfast, tasty food and drinks at very reasonable prices, and the staff were super friendly and helpful, consistently going out of their way to make sure we were enjoying our stay and the island! Shout out to Ariel and Nervin.

PhilippinesWe love everything about Mua Tala!!! Anywhere you go (room, restaurant, pool, cafe and bar), the views are spectacular!!!!! My husband and I spent 5days here for our honeymoon, but wished we could’ve stayed longer. The staffs were very lovely and friendly, all of them!!! The food (especially the shitake pasta) and drinks were really tasty. We actually got a little bit too much to drink on our first night, also because we came just in time for the full moon party. We would definitely recommend and come back ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

RomaniaThe view from the room is amazing, as well as the beach in front of the hotel. The staff is very polite and the rooms and general hotel and beach area is quite clean. They even helped us book an island hopping tour and we were picked up from the hotel reception. The breakfast was good, but limited options and we got bored on the third day staying there. The breakfast is not buffet like but rather 1 portion per person and are not that filling which could be a positive thing as you’d have energy for the rest of the day, but some people would prefer and say otherwise. If you’d like one more portion you could do so, but for extra charges. They also offer you kayak or paddle board rentals free of charge. The immediate walking area of the hotel is full of restaurants or coffee shops. The wifi is exceptional, the room is perfectly ventilated just with the fan without needing to turn on the AC.

PhilippinesThe staff was extremely professional and helpful! The food took a bit to be served but was exceptional for the price. We loved everything we ordered. The proximity of the hotel to a smll shopping area, the beach and other activities was very convenient. The Mua Tala Hotel itself had a beach bar and café at its base. The atmosphere was very relaxing and beautiful! Ms. Louella was a godsend! My fiancé proposed here and it was all planned wonderfully with Ms. Louella's help! From recommendations for videographers/photographers, the location, the food, the set-up and the day of execution, it was truly an unforgettable moment and overall adventure. I saw some of the reviews complaining about the staircases being an issue. We stayed at the highest rooming accommodation (King Suite) and although it was several flights of stairs, it did not bother us. The staff carried all our belongings to our room anyway. The assessment of that being a con is unjust. Logistically speaking, to expect other alternative infrastructure to be in place is privileged. They are just stairs. We truly want to thank Ms. Louella and the staff for an amazing experience that will live on with us forever! We hope to be back some day!

GermanySeveral meals and drinks were not available. Also, the hotel was not inclined to negotiate the activity prices and therefore we found other (cheaper) solutions less than 200m from the location. The rooms are not isolated, therefore you will hear the wave sounds, which is nice for some but not if you are trying to get some rest.
Probably the most beautiful view we had during our trip. The hotel is ideally located. The stairs were not a problem for us but as other comments state, you better be fit!

United KingdomThere was nothing not to like about our stay at Mua Tala except having to leave.
The bedroom was spacious, well appointed with an incredible view over the sea and islands. Everything and more was provided including a well stocked mini bar, toiletries, bath robes, slippers and an endless supply of beach towels. All the staff were very polite, helpful and friendly and provide a service over and above, from the security guards, waiting servers, kitchen staff, cleaning team and Jade and his colleagues at reception. The infinity pool, lounge, restaurant and beach bar are all wonderful and of a high standard. Mua Tala is on a beautiful beach from where you can swim in the warm calm sea and watch the sunset.
