Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe area didn’t particularly feel great to walk to. It’s down a side road next to the pharmacy. Luckily there was 2 of us otherwise, I’d not feel comfortable walking down there. It’s by peoples homes but dogs walking around (if you’re scared of dogs), and a goat! Once you’re in the hostel (surrounded by a thick bamboo fence), you forget the outside. There was also cockroaches in the bathroom so going for a 4am pee was challenging!
Jodie who works there is lovely and helpful. We had a private room with air con and private bathroom. The outside space is relaxing and the sitting area has hammocks, games and a very chilled hippie vibe to it. The room was clean and air con was perfect

South KoreaThe outside bathrooms were a bit uncomfortable, but as I already knew about that I was okay. If you are sensitive about it choose another place.
It's a very beautiful hostel and the staffs are all very nice.

GermanyThe dorms have moskito nets, but some are already old with holes and should be replaced. In upper bunkbeds you always touch the net as it hangs just from one point over the bed. Some of the shared bathrooms could be repaired/renewed like taps moving when turning on water, showers where water is not properly running.
Very nice hostel with little garden and cute chillout area with hammocks. You can spend time with others watching a movie or chill for yourself. Little breakfast is offered e.g. egg toast, smoothie or overnight oats. Water, tee, coffee for free. All rooms are open, so no walls but curtains, but still silent and I had a good sleep. Fan and locker for each bed. Recommend a private room with double bed for bit more privacy and space. Very friendly and supportive staff. 10 minutes walk to the beach and restaurants and cafes directly nearby. Good laundry service.

PhilippinesEverything is perfect. Just something guests have to know or expect in case, there are bugs/ insects — although it is expected since the property promotes nature and there’s a lot of trees and birds in the property.
It’s as advertised, peaceful and full of nature. I like how they used native materials to compliment the beach vibe, the flow of people is carefree, in fact was able to make friends with some. And the staff is super amazing! Special mention to Jodie, who gave us tips and always asking how our days going.

Lots of spaces to relax, including lots of hammocks. Good air conditioning and a mosquito net provided. Lovely staff. Relaxing vibe.

AustraliaPath to go in is bumpy and rocky. If you have luggage, you will need to carry it for about 200 meters from the main road. Although, the staff are helpful to organise transportation in and out of the hostel when you checked in.

TurkeyThe blanket given to cover us was very thin, it can be a little chilly at night. Frankly, I'm a little sensitive too. Maybe if I asked the staff they could help me. Nothing negative, it was very nice
I love it. I loved the interior design of the hostel, it is very peaceful. The beds were very comfortable and there was a special fan for each bed. Hostel owners and staff were very helpful. We liked the hostel so much that we kept making new reservations.

FranceThere was a rooster just on the other side of the wall, but you’re in the Philippines, so it’s kind of a given to wake up to roosters. Really nice place

AustriaAs you can see on the pictures, the private rooms are only surrounded by curtains. If you're unlucky and have a family with a kid next to you that is awake in the middle of the night, you might not get the sleep you'd need. Especially as the cock behind the room starts to crow at 5AM.
The resort is really cute and laid back with lots of hammocks and chill areas. I LOVE how the trees grow through the roof! The staff is really friendly and the location is good with not even 10mins walk to the beach. You get a lot of great recommendations with a super helpful QR code when checking in. I would definitely go back!

United KingdomQuite noisy at night… can hear other guests moving about and also loud roosters just the other side of the wall… I still slept fine though and not much can do about it anyway!
Loved the relaxed vibe… hammocks and bean bags everywhere! Mosquito net provided but good quality and definitely needed as lots of mossies here! But I slept well due to the good net. Toilets/showers clean. Free drinking water. A bit further from beach/main drag than other places but also nice to be away from the noise/hustle & bustle too, much quieter.

Amazing design in the middle of the garden. Beautiful wooden interiors with nipa roof and hammocks surrounding the rooms and common area. I felt like I am in peaceful monastery where everyone respected the beauty of this place. Friendly and polite staff, as well as the owners who run the place with heart. Yoga matts, books, hammocks, games were available in the common area. Kitchen had simple yet tasty choice of breakfast. It is walking distance to Alona Beach.
