Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsIf I could give some constructive feedback, the hygiene could use some more attention. I didn't really like showering/being in the bathroom cause the bathroom was often smelly and the ants were definitely owning the bathroom. There were also some spiderwebs in my tent, which I think could have easily been removed. But overall, the place is nice and has so much potential to be a super stay!
The staff is absolutely amazing! The dive instructors are good. They make you feel comfortable, and they are super flexible. I really enjoyed the diving here. All of the other staff were very friendly. Especially a shout out to the women helping around at the reception/bar (you know who you are :-)). She was so social and friendly. The hut is nice and for a solo traveller perfect. The location is not really near town, but it's near the beaches and dive sites.

ItalyOne of the dive instructors filmed the dives with his gopro, unfortunately we never got the videos. (Maybe we will still get them?)
Very nice place with great dive instructors! Two of us did the PADI Open Water licence. We did several dives together and the food in the restaurant on site was also very tasty. We slept in small bamboo huts, perfect for 4 people. We would definitely come again!

Germany.... don't book the Oslob Whaleshark Tour with them! The whole tour was just a mess!! I wouldn't recommend the tour in general, cause it is really crowded. But if you wanna do it, just book it in town. This are some of the negative experiences I made with the tour I booked via Nirvana: - You have to pay 300 more than booking in town directly - the pick up was a moto at 3.15 which drove me to town where I had to wait for a while - The "tourguide" (who was also the driver) was super unfriendly and rude. I never experienced that elswhere in the Philippines. He pushed us through the whole tour and never told us what was going on or what is happening next (I asked him several times). - I took the option to go to the "port" for the Panglao ferry. This should have been included in the (already higher) price. We went to the "port" by Trycyle. Once we've reached the "port" the Trycyle driver told me, I owe him 100. I was the only one who had to pay for the Trycyle, the other tourguides payed for their clients. - The "port" actually wasn't a port. It is just a place where you have to wait for a boat going to Momo Beach (not Alona as I was told). The boat costs 1000 and there are only tourists on this boat... I heard that they charged some randomly extra for the lagguage. But there is no other option anyways. --> the whole tour felt like a rip off tour!!!!!
The accomondation itself is beautiful. The vibe is super nice and relaxed and Rodelle is just awesome and helpful! Its a bit out of town but that makes it even more relaxed :). I wanted to rate a 9 but....

The staff were always very nice and accommodating! Big cheers to Rodel 🫰🏼 We stayed in tent C and it was, although small, very cosy. Just perfect! Outside of the room there's a small table were we hanged out with other guests. Very good & positive vibes around. They have everything you need: -good food & drinks -small pool (just perfect to refresh) -scooter, snorkel gear & GoPro rental -tours -diving courses -minigolf, pool & basketball court Super advise you to stay with them 💙

GermanyUnfortunately it’s not really clean, especially the bathrooms would need a proper clean. Additionally some rubbish is laying around in the property. Those things can easily be fixed and would improve the whole a lot!
Really nice setup, lovely huts and great inspirations in designing the place. It’s nice and quiet

United KingdomMozzies in the dining area. Not sure why but maybe a fan or incense coil would help?
From my six weeks traveling round Philippines this was probably the best value. The fact it's almost like a homestay plus the casual and quite intimate design of the place meant I had more social interactions here than all the other places put together ( which is quite special as a solo traveller). The location was pretty much spot on as I wanted to divide my time between white beach, the town of Moalboal proper and the bars and restaurants at the touristy bit- nirvana was bang in the middle of all of them. I rented one of their bicycles ( a nice change from scooters) and beetled around the three destinations every day. The food here is also really nice and competitive price- I had the best meal of my trip so far- Korean veg n rice dish with an actual sauce! And despite the price there was actual hot water in the showers ( just don't run it for ages) The staff were all nice, the diving was cool- what more do you need! And don't let the trike drivers justify an inflated price by saying that the road there is bumpy and bad. The bumpy bit is only about 200 metres long and they should only charge 150ps from the bus drop off!

CanadaNo toilet paper offered. Hard to access reception at times.
Big huts with a communal area for eating. A bit out of town (you'll need a motorbike). Staff are friendly (but sometimes can be hard to find them if you need something). Nice big windows and lots of open air so a fan is sufficient (we didn't even need a fan most nights). Big windows also meant we had a critter break in a few nights in a row to eat some bread (night one) and go through our garbage (both nights). Hilarious but may not be for everyone.

PortugalI could point out some issues that may need improvement. In our first night at this hotel, there was no water running (problem with pipes), so we weren’t able to take a shower. There was also no one at the reception to solve the problem, or talk to, even though we went there many times before close time. The staff from the hotel also state that we could rent snorkeling equipment, although, when we went to the hotel to get it, there were none cleaned, we ended up renting the equipment at moalboal. Lastly, even though the rooms are located inside the hotel perimeter, behind a closed gate, our room lock didn’t work very well, and it didn’t seem very reliable. Despite this issues, we enjoyed our stay.
Since we were looking for a place away from tourist Moalboal centre, the location was ideal, but it might be hard to find if you’re not traveling with car. Staff was nice and helpful. The cabin has a rustic design, and was clean and comfortable (a bit small, but everything was as advertised). Recommended.

New ZealandSome of the nails in the hut have started coming out of the floorboards and need a good hammer to get them flat. We learned to not step in certain places to avoid these and the broken beams. The roofs may also need to be replaced as it was leaking steadily during a good rain. I'm sure they will be replaced before the rainy season but we had to make sure our water sensitive gear was tucked away to ensure it's safety.
The cost was very good and it was only about a 20 min walk into town. Chris the owner/ dive instructor was very friendly and told you exactly how it was in Moalboal. Perfect for a short stay on the way through.
