It isn't a new or refurbished place. This is why I would rate like this.

It is a nice hotel, located close by the center of Puerto Princesa. Staff is friendly: there was an issue with the hot water and after my initial request to solve it wasn't finalized, the Manager of the hotel took charge of it and required another staff to come even though it was late evening. It was a clean and large room. There was a kitchenette space available for the entire floor: having water and tea/coffee.

Even though it was stated on the booking form there the hotel does not accept credit card payments. There is also no integrated free airport shuttle.

The staff was friendly and the hotel was much bigger and more comfortable than expected.

this place is good for short stay after or before the flight because the value of money is really good. in the room you can find ac, tv, but not all rooms have windows. the staff is really nice, they can organise the van to el nido for 700 pesos. Location is not far form airport.

The front of the hotel shows a different name as it’s advertised. There was a small vinyl sheet hanging on the wall with the other name of the hotel so it was confusing at first. On booking.com it said I will have to pay at the property, but after booking the room I received a text message asking me to secure my booking by paying for the room. It asked for 50 pesos more than it was advertised. I made the payment but received no confirmation at all. When checking in, the lady asked me to pay for our room. I had to explain I have already paid but my only confirmation I could show her was the transaction in my online banking. She was fine with that. Then the lady asked me to pay 200 pesos for a “service charge”. I asked her to show me exactly where I can find this information, as it wasn’t mentioned when I made the reservation. I told her I refuse to pay anything else, then she said it was fine and we were shown to our room.

As other guests said, yes, the building is old. However, the hotel is clean. The room was clean, the bathroom was clean. Bed and pillow are comfortable. Close to the airport. Modern quiet AC. We even got toothbrush and toothpaste. It had a decent sized tv. Free drinking water in the corridor to help yourselves. Room and bathroom were both decently sized and it was really cheap. True 24/7 reception unlike most places that say they have 24/7 reception.

- It seems to be echoey on the hallway, so you would be able to hear people talking loudly from your bedroom. But we didn’t really bother.

- The staff were nice and friendly. Also very helpful when you need information to go around Puerto. - Appreciated the free hot & cold drinking water the hotel provides. - The price is very reasonable, considering the spacious bedroom we had. - The location is quiet and peaceful, a 3-block away from the busy area, which makes it relaxing when you’re having a night stroll with your partner. - Palawan seems to have brownouts quite often, but this hotel has its own generator so you won’t have to worry about losing power.

The double bed in our “superior double room” is actually 2 singles pushed together with an uncomfortable gap. Also very strangely the bedroom window looks into the corridor so curtains have to be closed at all times unless you want someone to be able to see you sleeping.

La Charica Inn offers a pleasant stay, but the internet can be weak and confusing with multiple signals and passwords. Improvement is needed in this area.

One standout feature is the convenience of having tricycle transportation available right at the doorstep. It's not only convenient but also incredibly affordable, like a mere 40 cents to reach SM mall. This accessibility makes exploring the city a breeze. The room was only moderately clean, and the bathroom was quite old, with rustic/dirty walls above the tile line, for example. The bedding was minimal and there was nothing extra provided.

The price/value was the best part about this property, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
