Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Nice location a bit out of town, so it was quiet. You’ll need to rent a scooter, but you’d want to do that anyway to get around. Staff are great and wifi good.

GermanyIn the first night our room was already given to other people and we got a downgrade to another room across the street. They wanted to give us a discount but we never got anything back even after weeks of mailing.
It's a very nice guesthouse with friendly hosts and a friendly owner. They helped with every question we had and we could also rent motorbikes directly and get laundry for our clothes.

United StatesThis property feels like home. The staff and owner are so kind they make you feel a part of the family. Our room was very comfortable and clean and looked out on the gardens. At night we had beers with everyone and got lots of help and recommendations for our travels around Bohol.

PhilippinesNothing i did not like at all.
The place is very much perfect for family trips. But i imagine it will also be perfect for solo or small group travelers. All the staff are really friendy and helpful. They even make sure that our trikes and trips to the fish market/shore to try out fresh sea urchins are properly priced. We went to check their fish market cooked in their kitchen. Bobby, the owner gave lots of tips too, thought it was already our last day when he came. The beach is just around 3-5mins walk. Though, during our stay, it was almost always lowtide so we preffered going to alona area for swimming. Alona by trike is 5minute trike ride for 100-120 pesos. You can just ask help from any of the staff and they can call one for you. They negotiate to the actual fare if in case the trike tries to ask for a higher rate.

United Statesit's not an issue with the guesthouse, but it is a bit far away from Alona, which is also part of its appeal. So we had to get a habal-habal to the beach when we wanted to go. Just something to be aware of. The other thing is it's not very sound proof so you do hear a lot of animal noises at night - like dogs barking or roosters crowing.
The staff were all very accommodating and friendly- the rooms and furniture were really nice and we liked having the common space in the house to hang out with our friends. The staff made us breakfasts every morning at our requests - very homey feeling. The dog was very cute and friendly and it felt nice and secure.

SpainThe host couple are very nice and accommodating. They were so attentive to our needs and very flexible. The rooms and the facilities are clean. They have a nice outdoor kitchen that you can use. It’s a great place for families and large groups, away from the noisy streets. Value for money I would highly recommend the Pahiluna.

Beautifully constructed main building. Hot water on demand, cold drinking water dispenser on our floor, silent air conditioning and comfortable beds. Nice big room (deluxe double with extra single bed and little mattress on the floor for my son). Very clean. Excellent staff. They couldn’t have been more helpful- booking transfers and trips out too. It has a chilled atmosphere too. Nice breakfast- included in the price! Eggs made to order, juice, fresh fruit everyday and tea/ coffee. You can even use the kitchen by the bar to cook your own food if you want.

Hungaryunfortunately, the beach near by was a real let down. we chose this location as we though the beach will be quite but nice. It seemed abandoned, with lot of rubbish, broken down trees, rotting seaweed everywhere, no eating options or bars and maybe only one dive operator actually open.
super helpful and polite staff, also provided good breakfast on request at very good price. the building itself was quite nicely done, very pretty grounds with garden, with free secure parking as well. the room was spacious, with comfortable bed and pillows, the bathroom was to a god standard, clean and tidy. aircon worked well, wifi was good. we had a nice little balcony. They have two very friendly dogs - more like big cuddly bears really. there were few good eating options around and only it is only short drive away from town in both direction for plenty more restaurants and bars to choose from.

Everything! The Guesthouse ambiance is very homey. It's like you're on vacay but you'll still feel the warmth of your stay. You'll also feel secured and the rooms ar3 cozy. Location - it's just a 5-minute motorbike ride from Alona beach. Despite this, it is far from the busy streets of bohol. If you really want to unplug but without the hassle of thinking whether you're far from getting your basic necessities (I mean McDonald's is just 5 minutes away), you'll want ti stay here. Staff - all them are friendly and will always have a smile on their faces. Kudos to Ms. Windy for being so hospitable and was able to provide us the best service. I booked them 2 days prior to our check-in and she was easy to talked to, specially with my requests. I booked an airport transport at 8 in the morning and our pick up was at 12nn. She was able to arrange it in no time. Internet - I was also in Bohol a month prior to this visit and it took me by surprise that the internet connection in Bohol is crappy. I already informed my family about it since there's two of us who will be working during our stay. At first, the wifi connection was not working, we got worried. I don't know if they were able to sense it but after a couple of minutes, connection was good. We were able to work during our stay. Value for Money - this by far is the cheapest accommodation we've had during our trip. I even got it for half the price despite getting a huge discount, we still got the service like that of a full paying guest or more. Will definitely recommend this place to my friends!
