Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdom- water and food at the resort was a little expensive, we ate there everyday as it’s a little secluded.
- felt like paradise in the middle of nowhere - simple living - exactly what we were after - John was so lovely and made sure we were happy everyday

CanadaWould recommend downloading an offline map to the cottages through the maps.me app before traveling! Road access to the cottages was a bit difficult and google maps does not show a correct route. John tried his best to contact us along the way to help out, but due to spotty internet it was tough to receive directions while we were on route on our motorbikes.
Great food! Amazing location, beautiful open-air cottage structures. The planting and landscaping of the beach and cottage area was outstanding. Loved the common restaurant building and beachside dining experiences.

FranceOur best experience on the entire island of Palawan. Without a doubt, arriving at Prince John Cottage is like arriving in paradise on earth. John is undoubtedly the best host we have met in the Philippines: the attention, the activities he offers, the services he provides are priceless. Thanks to him we have been able to enjoy the experience to the fullest without worrying about anything. He took care of us from our arrival to our departure, taking care of all the details. The site is located away from the city centre, being a more private and exclusive place. Near this wonderful place you find an ecosystem from islands to waterfalls. Thank you very much John for letting us enjoy your kingdom, we are eternally grateful.

United KingdomAlthough I felt safe the entire time, as the property was wide open, a Safety deposit box would have eased my mind.
My favourite stay in the whole of the Philippines Truly a paradise location! Our open fronted ‘treehouse’ room faced the beach and we woke to the most ideal if views every morning. Loved the feeling of living in nature and the ‘glamping’ feel of the accommodation. John was a fabulous host, who could not have done more to make his guests feel welcome. The Prince John boat trip was intimate and wonderful with the most delicious lunch. The evening BBQ was absolutely delicious. I also loved the isolation of the location. I’d go back in a heartbeat

BelgiumJohn was very welcoming. We enjoyed our stay here a lot, although we only stayed for one night. Note: you have to take a boat to get on the (feels like) private island. The food was very good, so no need for any other shops. Would recommend if you want to get away of everything for a few days!

GermanyThe food in the restaurant is good but not outstanding and theres not many different dishes to choose from. No other options to eat closely (could transfer to Port Barton by boat but there’s an extra charge) except another hotel next door which has very similar menu / prices / quality as we were told by other guests so we didn’t bother trying it out.
It‘s a lovely secluded beach, they pick you up from Port Barton by boat for free. The cottages are basic (with fan but no AC but with the ocean breeze it was fine) but very comfortable and clean. John is a great host fulfilling your every wish. :-)

United KingdomI suggested John put in safes. although my daughter and I felt entirely safe the whole time (even as the property did not have a front) I think it would put peoples mind at ease
The location was absolutely amazing- a secluded beach accessible only by boat and only shared with 2 other small resorts. Our ‘treehouse’ was directly facing the beach giving a outstandingly beautiful view every morning. John was an amazing host and nothing was too much trouble. The bbq on the beach every night was second to none

SerbiaThe drink prices are a double than in the rest of Philippines, but its worth it, as its very far away from any store.
The stay at Prince John was amazing, it was a real tropical bungalow, everything is made out of bamboo and wood, the staff are very kind. The beaches are lovely, the breakfasts, lunches and dinners are very good, they bake their own bread every morning, everything is fresh. You dine at the beach, there is a hanging bed, everything is so relaxing. the bathroom and the shower are amazingly well done. Really, I would and will come back to Prince John.

PhilippinesNo wifi so you must have a good SIM card. Lovely to eat dinner at the beach but there are these annoying little bugs, they don’t do anything but they will crawl on you.
Incredibly authentic and a lovely taste of the Philippines. Amazing food and a great ambiance to the place. John was an amazing host, went above and beyond and was available for any questions through out our stay. I will let people know you are in the elements for the washroom as well as your bedroom so be prepared to have a mosquito net around your bed as well as no fan or AC… but it all makes for such a cool experience. Over all an excellent stay for me and my partner

The property is secluded - it is a place where you can enjoy and go back to basic, relax and chill. Enjoy the beach front anytime you like. That was our experience of the place. We loved and enjoyed our time there. John the owner is very nice and he make sure all the requests are met. He took care of our transport going to Puerto Princesa. He gives special attention to special request of his clients. Prince Jonh made us feel special. We will be back and bring more friends.

AustraliaBesides John, the staff is not that friendly. Hospitality can be improved at the restaurant and cottages as well. Do not rent a motorbike to go as the road is not in a good shape. Always wait for John's boat to pick you up from Port Barton
Awesome place if you want to relax, it's a paradise! It's a bit far from the town but it totally worth it! John helped us with everything! You can also use kayaks to go the island that is in front of the cottage. Breakfast is really good.
