Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceWe had the room with the rice terraces view, it was so pretty. We did the 3 days-trek with Randy & Troy and it was amazing. Germaine prepared us a delicious packed lunch every day and was so nice with us. We also shared stories and talks with the family. Thank you for everything, best chicken curry and adobo ❤️ see you soon

LithuaniaProperty is in amazing place - you can face the main Batad’s rice terrasses from Rita’s Inn place. But the main thing - that after spending 2nights there - you start to feel like at home. Germina ( Rita’s daughter) who is actually running the place - is making fantastic home made food, arraning guides, massages. So my suggestion - go there for 2 or 3 nights, enjoy the place , take the tours with a guides and enjoy massage in the evening. Everything with affordable price and you get not just a service , but a community and family feeling. And talk with Germina’s father Romeo - He is the star of Lonely Planet book and really amazing old man (Happiest man on earth that I have met). Go to this place and you will not be dissapointed, but only really loved!

Batad is a beautiful place to visit. You might be surprised that road ends and you need to walk around 15 minutes, but it is not that difficult as it might sound. Rita’s Inn is on the beginning of the village. Rice terraces are below. Photo with coffee shows exactly what you will see while on breakfast. Inn and whole place has a very calm and welcoming atmosphere. We had joyful discussion with owners where we learned a lot about Batad’s history and traditions. Thank you for that. We took a tour around a terraces and visited a waterfall which is also nearby. Rita’s Inn offers homemade food with rice from their terrace. It was cold in the evening and during night, take a proper clothes. You can ask for additional blanket if you need. Night was dark and quiet.

Czech RepublicNothing to complain about.
It is problably the best place to stay if you want to explore the Batad rice terraces and the waterfall. The view is stunning, you can enjoy your meal or brewed coffee while overlooking the whole place. Rooms are simple but clean and cosy with comfortable beds. The shared shower comes with warm water. It could be only problem for very demanding tourists but unless you are a snowflake you will be ok (the owners keep evrything clean all the time). Food is homemade and very good. Owners are heartwarming people that will always try to help you with anything you need. For the tour we used a guide we got recommended and it was worth it. It’s not that easy to navigate around the terrases and she was very knowledgeable, explaining us everything we wanted to know.

CanadaFood was ok and will sustain you but very basic. Lots of rice though, it is the rice terraces after all. Shared bathroom, the toilet was very low. Difficult after a hike. Maybe install handlebars to help with getting up. Facilities were clean but Westerners/foreigners might find the washrooms not to par with what they are used to. I grew up in the Philippines so it was good enough for me.
The view is the main attraction of this place. Very beautiful and serene. Staff and guide were very helpful and informative. The staff even got us a porter to help guide us into the village. At the parking lot, you will have to leave your car and hike 20-30 minutes into the muddy terrain but turns into pavement after a while. The porter can also help carry some of your stuff. Parking overnight has 300pesos cost. You can also get a walking stick at the shed at the parking lot. Very useful if you want to hike the rice terraces. Theres a cost to rent them, I forgot the the price. Facilities were very clean.

BelgiumWe found it sad that the road to Batad was cemented for 90%. Before you could walk (hike) down the hill which made the experience even better. But it stays a great place to visit
f you need a place to relax, with friendly people (owner & family) , great food and a magnificent view (the Batad Rice Terraces) this is the place to stay. Every time we come here they improve our stay. It really is a home away from home.

United KingdomRamon and Germenia were incredibly welcoming and warm. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and at home. Our room was simple but clean and comfortable. It had a balcony with a breathtaking view of the rice terraces. I could spend hours sitting on the balcony, sipping my tea and taking in the scenery. The food at the homestay was delicious. The hosts cooked us traditional Ifugao dishes, which were always fresh and flavorful. Batad is a very quiet and peaceful village. There is no traffic or noise, just the sound of nature. We loved waking up to the sound of birds singing and the view of the rice terraces in the morning light. Overall, our stay in Batad was an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend this homestay to anyone looking for a relaxing and authentic Philippine experience.

GermanyThis is the type of place i always look for when travelling. A place with a long history of hosting travellers (you can see many pictures and notes of past travellers as part of the decoration), approachable good hearted people who run the place and nice food and drinks to choose from. When arriving in this magnificent village from the parking area (after an easy 15 minute walk) the hotel is right at the beginning. The view is absolutely amazing and i felt comfortable from start to finish. * If you need internet to send a few messages, you can buy internet vouchers per hour. Super cheap but the connection of course is slow - but handy if you just want to send a quick message :) Thank you for hosting me and all the laughs (and beers) with shared :) .

Everything! Germaine and her dad are so sweet and helpful 💕. The view from the terrace is magnificent, the food is very decent. We had two heavy suitcases with us, so Germaine sent us her neighbors to the end of the road from where you have to walk down to the village. For a small fee, they helped us carry everything. They also work as guides, and we did a hiking tour with them spectacular! There is a shower with warm water, and the whole place is immaculately clean.

SwitzerlandI stayed two nights at Rita's and loved it so much. Lovely Germaine and Mister Romeo are so welcoming and always have a warm smile and laughter for you. The rooms are basic and very clean, but you don't spend time in your room since the restaurant area with it's stunning view on the Batad rice terraces and mountains is more than you wish for. I also loved how flexible Germaine was. When I couldn't finished my food, she would safe it for later. I also had an amazing guide for two days with Elisa, who is Germaine's neighbour. Sometimes we talked so much that we spend more time for the hikes than calculated. But if you want a guide that delivers all the insider information about the village and their people, the history of the region, the rice fields, rice making and so much more, ask Germaine for Elisa. Don't waive a guide. For sure you can also hike alone. Not just you will miss so much insider information and awesome company during your hike, it's also good to support the locals since some of them depend on this income. If I ever come back to Batad, I'll choose Rita's again 🙏🏻

The accommodation is basic but has everything you need. The whole stay was so much fun. You get to see what life in the little town is like and it's a very peaceful place. I would have stayed there longer and I highly recommend the Inn to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay in Batad.
