Unfortunately the dogs sometimes got carried away with their barking and the chickens crowing were a little noisy at times at night. Wasn't bad enough to not get back to sleep hut did wake me up a couple of times. Other than that honestly everything else is so lovely!!

The staff, the setting, the food and the beds were so great! Lovely, clean and delicious. The dogs were really lovely as well, I enjoyed them being there to play and pet!

I would have liked some more vegan options on the menu.

Breezy and quiet place with very friendly staff. They helped me get a scooter and also to extend my stay last minute. The dorm was good with several fans and you got your own locker. You have to have you own lock. Comfy bed, no curtains which was ok. Big shower and toilet outside with a small communal area. There will be roosters, dogs and other animals making noice early in the morning. The cafe was really good too. Close to Paliton beach and easy to get around the island and San Juan from the hostel with your own scooter. Free distilled water and free wifi.

No fault here. There was a boat accident because of the storm so the nearby beach was closed, therefore the location at the time was underwhelming. Everything else was perfect.

I liked the 4 beds dorm, I was alone, arriving in the storm and an employee helped me checking in. It's completely bug-free and spider-free. The restaurant is famous here for its quality, delicious food! The staff and the boss Jerry are super kind and helpful, even got me transportation at the right price later on.

However, there were a couple of drawbacks to my experience. Firstly, the accommodation itself was quite basic and didn't provide much in terms of amenities or comfort. Secondly, the staff didn't seem particularly interested in providing a welcoming atmosphere or being attentive to guests' needs. They were often absent, which made it difficult to get assistance or ask questions

Starting with the positives, the location was amazing as it was right on the beach, which made it very convenient to enjoy the beautiful views and take part in water activities. The food was also exceptional - I particularly enjoyed the local cuisine they served. Additionally, the fact that there was a scooter rental service available on-site was very convenient and added value to my stay.

The rooms could use a make over and a cleaning (mostly the floor). My bed blanket (which is only a sheet) did not smell good so I changed it with another fresh one. That grossed me a bit.

The bathrooms are super clean and beautiful. The Cafe has really good food would highly recommend.

Even thought the room was delivered to us clean, there were a lot of ants everywhere; in the shower, in the sink, on the wall and in the bed. Also the bathroom contained multiple used soaps. On the first night we heard weird sounds, but then we saw it was a really big gekko. It didn’t leave for the whole stay and hid behind our towels the whole time (nice surprise/jumpscare when we wanted to grab the towel in the shower). The tan did not cool the room down at all and the room was warmer than outside. In the morning the sun shines right in the bed which makes it not cooler. Moreover there were not only animals inside the room but also outside the rooms. Consequently we got woken up really early every morning by chickens because there were no windows to demp the sound. Regarding the staff, they were really kind but and they ment everything well, but they were very slow and forgetful and a little all over the place helping multiple people at the same time which made everyone’s wait longer. Once we had our food it was good tho :).

The food was delicious and the location of the property was excellent for our stay. We could rent a scooter there which was very nice and they were flexible about the amount of days we wanted to rent it. The dogs at the property are really cute, however they did come into our room almost very night uninvited.

    Nothing not to like here

Beautiful place with a lot of plants in the garden and very relaxing atmosphere. The staff is super friendly and helping you with any questions. The food in their cafe/ restaurant is amazing! Don’t miss out their pizza and homemade pastries, also nice espresso and free water refill. I extended my stay two times and stayed in the Kubo hut and dorm. The linen, mattresses and pillows are new and very comfortable and unlike many other places they have great Wifi. Also loved their dogs and puppy and chickens. Bathrooms and showers were very clean and nice. Overall great value for money. A place to feel home away from home :)

The beach is nearby but price for comfort is not very reasonable due to lack of air conditioning.

Queen room option did not have air conditioning. We initially thought it would be windy since it is close to the beach but it was a very humid April week. The fan was not enough and the hut design also does not help with air flow. There were residents in a house right next to the hut and they burned their garbage right next to our wall which wasn't very good since it was a very hot summer day and the risk of a unwanted fires was very high.

Proximity to Paliton Beach is very good. There is a cafe in the property for quick eats. Free internet is also available for those who need to access emails or socmed.

Booked 2 nights ended up staying 6. It’s a nice and comfortable budget option. Basic in a sense (cold showers) but that didn’t bother me. The staff is super friendly and there are 6 dogs that are lovely. Very chill vibe here and I felt very much at home. Jerry is a lovely host, I’d recommend to anyone to come. Really good food in the restaurant (best bagels in Asia!) I know they’re working on adding hammocks and more chill out areas which will make it even better!

The hut was essentially a shed, it was so hot. It’s the smallest double bed I’ve ever slept in, in Europe it would be a large single. The most uncomfortable mattress I’ve ever slept on. They closed the cafe on one day and seen as there was no other reception/building this essentially closed the hostel - no drinks staff etc. No air con just one fan which didn’t do much other than dry your throat. They told us bikes were 350pd then charged us 450, when we left for a different hostel we rented the exact same bike for 350. The hostel is also still under construction so there is a lot of building work going on. We also didn’t know it was on a farm with pigs and cows, and being vegan this wasn’t ideal for us. The cafe also had no vegan options what so ever so we couldn’t spend much time actually at the hostel. There’s also no communal area, and WiFi was non existent in the room. We feel bad leaving such a negative review but people need to know before booking this - we can only assume the high score and plentiful reviews are fake.

The dogs were amazing and are the main reason we gave the accommodation a higher score for facilities. It’s also walking distance to one of the beaches.

+ the restaurant area is really nice with the best price value ratio on this island for this kind of food. It is all homemade. Every bread, pastries and even the pasta itself. + there is a big garden area which they also use for their food + great for nature and animal lovers + every bed in the dorm has own light and socket, which is great. + there is a nice chill area off the restaurant for only guests + free water refill + the internet is really good + I love that the cafe has rescue dogs + it is just a 5min shortcut walk to Paliton Beach + you can rent a bike at See Kee Hor to get around the island

Whilst the huts are lovely, because they are wooden they are very open to the elements. In the dorm people had found spiders and geckos as the sides of the building you can literally see the ground out of. The first private we were put in had no lock on the door, when we asked the staff about this they assured us it was safe. We explained we weren’t comfortable not having a room that locked and they moved us to another private. No mosquito nets are provided. The area is very noisy with dogs, roosters and other animals.

The properties are authentic and unique. The rooms are beautiful wooden huts. The room we stayed in had a lovely seating area outside with a washing line and a decent fan inside. We ate in the restaurant and the food was amazing. Staff are happy to help and offered to arrange motorbike hire for us.

We didn’t have water multiple times (shower, sink, toilet) I took a shower on the shared facilities which wasnt the end of the world (5 min walk through the bushes) but I paid for a private place. The shower wasnt strong enough AND JUST COLD WATER. Also the shack seemed to been built over an ants nest or sort of it because the bathroom was full of them.

The Bungalow was cutie and rustic

On arrival the staff not welcoming, looked at me as if I wasn’t supposed to be there when I had a booking. i then ordered something off the specials menu, and when the bill came I was charged 70pesos more and was told this was the ‘new price’ even though it wasn’t on the board at that price - when I returned later it was a new price of 30 pesos more so I was charged more for no reason. Small bamboo hut that is open, no mosquito net provided so we were eaten alive, cold low pressure shower, no lock on door and loud with animals at night. not bad for the price but was looking forward to staying here due to the high rating and I do not think it is deserved.

location is next to nice beach and food is ok, not as good as made out, menu quite limited

Shower had 0 pressure during our 4 nights, only dripped at best. No lock on the door. Staff were quite slow and sometimes no one was around, but were accommodating with motorbike rental / food. We had to sleep with earplugs as the roosters would start screaming at 4am… could’ve been a very nice hidden gem but just needs a few improvements…!
