Had problems with tours booked through the hotel. Wouldn't recommend doing so.

The property was great, however the only small downside was that the shower drain was slow to drain which meant the bathroom had a lot of water in it, but this was very minor.

I very much recommend a stay at Sophias Beach House. While outside the main El Nido town, it is on the beach front of Corong Corong beach and therefore is quieter and more relaxed than the town which is an easy 15-20 min walk (much quicker by Tricycle) and has the majority of bars and restaurants (Food Truck, Rice8 and Big Bad Thai were my favourites). The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with reliable WiFi throughout the property. The room had good A/C and a fan. The staff are very friendly and happy to provide information about the area / tour. The breakfast was tasty and a good start to the day before the tours. There is also a water refill station. We did Tour A and Tour C with David John Travel and Tours as recommended by the property and they were great! The boats went from the jetty about 3 min walk from the property which saved walking into the town. I would definitely recommend a stay here if you are in the area and want to be away from the main town.

Rooms can be improved, but it was still great!

The staff were amazing! Thank you to Mark and team for being attentive to all our needs. First aid was readily available, room was clean and bathroom had high pressured water. You have to choose your preferred breakfast the night before, and they will serve the plated meal in the veranda on the second floor. They have snorkeling gear and aqua shoes which they lent us for free! We stayed in room 1 which had a great view of the beach 🏖️

Unfortunately, the toilet sometimes was smelly (i think coming from the pipes)

The location is perfect, peaceful and with some nice restaurants along the beach. The sunsets are beautiful. You can reach the town with a 20 min walk. The beach is not really suitable for swimming (many boats) but you can rent a kayak directly at Sohias guest house and easily reach Papaya beach (a beautiful beach, not crowded and perfect for snorkelling and relaxing). The breakfast was good, you can choose from different options (milk and oats, toast and jam, or traditional filipino breakfast). I would suggest to include the option of yogurt & fruit (for example mangos, since we dont have these delicious mangos in Europe :) )

AC was dodgy in one of the rooms.

The location was good, easy to get a tricycle down to the town. The beach front is right outside the door. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very nice, made fresh every morning.

The AC was a bit noisy. But It was like that in all the hotels in philippines.

The location id very nice, the views at breakfast time are grear. Room were very spacious and the staff was very nice. It does not have a swimming pool, but we were going to "La plage" a restaurant 4 min walking that allows you using the pool if you have any drink or food.

The water did not drain through the channel at the shower, which was right next to the toilet. We then sat in the water. The laundry request didn't go well. White was destroyed.

The hotel arranged transportation for us from Puerto Princessa Airport which was nothing short of a disaster. We met at the transport van at 19:30 and still hadn't left by 22:10, despite being reassured every 30mins that we would be "leaving soon, just waiting on another two passengers". The driver then advised that we would wait until 23:00 before leaving, as there was another flight arriving (hoping to fill his van). He was willing to leave earlier if all existing passengers paid more than the agreed price. Absolutely farcical and not the best start to the 5hr journey to El Nido!

Beautiful location on the sea front, stunning sunsets and lots of bars /restaurants etc within walking distance. Kayak hire available from the hotel with some amazing beaches and snorkelling near by that can only be added by boat/kayak. Staff very friendly and helpful

It’s location was good. Walking distance to the chaos but far enough to be away from it. The staff were fantastic. Very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. They can organise tours, tricycles or anything else you might need

This was the epitome of hospitality for real! Felt like family, truly, coming from a guest who’s pretty demanding. The whole hospitality was so warm, the people were great, really felt as if we had someone there for us, not just as guests! Definitely the property would use some major renovations but the location and the overall service filled this void.
