How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Its not in alona beach but only 4 min ride from it. I booked a motorbike anyway for all 4 days to visit the island, so not a problem for me at all.
Anna and her family are lovely, always happy to chat and help. Perfect happy ending for my trip in the Philippines, I was there for 4 nights and felt like home. Close to the airport, and walking distance to white beach. The rooms are nice, clean and comfortable.

Run by a lovely family and clean good sized rooms, shared bathroom situ worked really well as not many to the loo/shower and the best we have experienced. Water dispenser always fab and Great cheap mopeds to hire. Good location.

That I had to leave!
Anna and Flor are probably the best hosts I have met in my travels. They will make anything to make you feel home or even better than home. They would also put a Tokay Geco in your bed if that was your wish! The place is clean, quiet and close to a wonderful beach. If you feel like exploring the island Anna and Flor can rent scooters and patch you in case you have an accident with it! Don't choose any other place when Panglao!

I only spent one night there but it was perfect. Everything is clean, each bed has a mosquito net and a fan and even without AC the room doesn’t get too hot at night. Anna and Flor are so nice and very helpful hosts. And little Sofia was the sweetest, really brightened up my day :) I would definitely come back here!

The staff is super nice, kind and funny. Always there to help and one evening we were invited for typical philippino food, it was delicious. Loved everything here. And it's close to beautiful beaches.

Lots of Mosquitos outside in the common area, but what do you expect in nature??
Simple but has everything you need. The staff is great and always willing to help. You feel the good energy in the place, and the family vibe. Beds were comfy.

Wifi was okay, not super strong. The tricycle was offered to us for 300 pesos to the ferry but when we got there, he said 500! Also, the shower in the dorm room is tiny, not powerful, cold and the drain was blocked.
Anna was very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast is a convenient and cheap choice. The beds are comfy in the dorm rooms with a personal fan. Renting a scooter through the hostel was easy. You definitely need to rent a scooter to be able to do things from here. We had the ease of a tricycle being sorted for us to the ferry.

The location is not the best if you don't have/don't want to rent a scooter.
Everything was great, Anna did everything she could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Gave good advice about what to visit/where to eat also. Room was basic but comfortable, aircon worked great. Everything was always well cleaned when we were there.

They need more and better restaurants here!
I really loved amazing atmosphere in Izla Soanna. Location of hostel is very good because It is super calm, peaceful, in the nature and there is no central area in Panglao already. Dorms are extremely big and comfortable. I was also happy with the conditions of the my dorm and showers/toilets (they were always clean). I extent my stay here already and hope to visit amazing Philippines again and again!

The top bunk was shaking every time the person on the side turned :D

The entrance could be more noticeable.
They always keep the hostel clean which is very good, especially when staying in dormitory. And the hosts are very helpful with great hospitality. They always make sure that you have a pleasant stay with them.

Everything! Staff were SO friendly and helpful - they even let me rest in the room all day after I checked out because my flight wasn’t until the evening. They also helped me get a good Tuktuk rate to go to the airport and gave me lots of recommendations for things to do and places to eat. The room was comfortable and clean and the bathroom facilities were also good. Definitely the place to stay if you want a nice, quiet, and welcoming place near the beach.
