Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsWe love everything about it. The only thing that could be improved could be the wifi in the rooms. But this doesn't bother me so much. Aside from that, everything was good.
We are so happy with our stay. We get the most relaxation that we need. The recommendations of Roberto and her wife was all good especially the island hopping that we did. Ate even gave me a baby oil to use in our skin when we visit one of the island. Since there could be a lot of sand flies there. So thoughtful! The food was great and the service and help of everyone was just perfect. Very accomodating! Will surely come back when we have a chance. Very good people.

AustraliaThe closest town is San Vicente which you can not walk to but can get a tuk tuk there but nothing really there to see.
The resort is amazing and food was beyond incredible and very reasonably priced. I had a special birthday and they made me a cake, very caring staff. We did some tours from here and they were great. If you are looking for a getaway to totally relax, this is the place. Only 10 guests at a time.

AustraliaRoberto was an excellent host and was only to willing to provide advise for tours etc. I would certainly recommend booking the island tour via Roberto. Additionally taking a ride to Long Beach is very much worthwhile. The sunsets from the beach were spectacular and the food provided by April and team were delicious. We would certainly return to Sunset Beach Resort.

AustraliaWe enjoyed a fabulous week relaxing and chilling on the beach and by the pool. The rooms are well furnished and maintained. The boutique accommodation has a positive vibe, we made new friends, enjoyed many interesting conversations and shared lots of laughs. Roberto and his team provided incredible attention and service. A scrumptious menu and range of drinks. We also enjoyed beach walks, paddle boarding and kayaking and only thought about using the gym fitness equipment :-) It’s a short tricycle ride to the town and port. Enjoyed the island hopping adventure (great reef) and the beach bar at the long beach. Just a note that the kitchen is closed from 1pm until 5pm but can organise a 5 minute tricycle ride to town. Thank you Robert, April and team. A big thanks to the maintenance guy who fixed my water bottle and electrical cable travel adapter (above and beyond)

GermanyNothing to do with the resort itself, the beach in front of the hotel is not one of the best (shallow water), so if you want to go to a proper beach you should visit some beaches nearby (e.g. Long Beach). But the view offered is great, especially at sunset!
I love this place. It was our first stop in the Philippines after a very long trip. We were welcomed warmly by the owner, had some chatting and then some (deserved) rest. It is a very small resort (5 rooms) in the not touristic San Vicente (most of the people stay in Port Barton) and, for us it was the right choice. The resort is spotless, the owner and the team running the resort are amazing, the room is nice, clean and functional, the food was amazing. We were having dinner with the other guests, sharing experiences and all agreeing that the place is amazing. Roberto (the owner) was also really helpful in organizing all the transportation to and from San Vicente, as well the tours in San Vicente. We felt like being part of a family - many thanks for making our vacation memorable! We will be back!

RomaniaMy husband and I spent 3 nights in Roberto's resort and it was amazing. It has been our best accommodation in the Philippines and Roberto and his staff were super nice, helpful and welcoming to us. Roberto has shared a lot of information with us on how to get to the resort and also arranged for us to get a public van to go to El Nido. We also did a land tour and a boat tour and we've had a great time as the area is not so touristic, so most beaches we had just to ourselves. And by far, the best thing was the food. We ate in the resort every day and everything was freshly prepared and super delicious. I totally recommend Roberto's place, you will have a great time!

United KingdomNothing.
The hotel itself is awesome with the perfect spot for watching the sunset, where you can relax on their hammocks or sun loungers and you pretty much have the beach area to yourself. The hotel staff look after you and organise anything you need. Hire a moped and explore the local area (quiet roads make this very enjoyable ) or go on one of the island hopping tours. The location of the hotel is superb, although very quiet. San Vicente is a very small village about 5 mins from the hotel, although the relaxing vibe is awesome and there are a couple of bars/cafes with a handful of other visitors and tourists. The beach that is around 15mins on the moped is a fantastic long stretch with hardly any tourists. This is the perfect hotel and area to unwind for a few days, away from the main tourist areas of Palawan but with just enough life for it to be fun and with enough to do so you aren't bored. Our 3 days here were perfect. Additionally, the food here is excellent and a level up from what we experienced in the rest of the Palawan. Fantastic value for money, too.

CanadaThe only addition I’d make is adding a smoothie bowl or a little bit of a healthy breakfast for us vegans/vegetarians. April is the best cook and made the most delicious food.
What didn’t I like! Roberto, April and all the staff make you feel like family. It’s so welcoming. The rooms are very private, comfy and clean. You can join for dinner every night and it is served at a long table with all the other guest so you meet other people. I believe there is only 5 rooms so there is never that many people there. THE SUNSETS❤️ honestly the best sunsets we saw are whole trip. They have bikes you can rent to get to small towns near by. Two very cute dogs. Pool was a nice addition as you can’t swing at the beach there. All the neighbouring families and people were very nice and helpful. They have a boat tour that that has coral that’s actually alive, unlike el nido! Food was delicious :) Honestly our favourite stay our whole trip. We will be back!

SwitzerlandThe water pressure in the shower and not so thorough cleaning of the rooms.
We had a wonderful stay with our little family. Our children (toddler and baby) felt very comfortable right from the start and we were very warmly welcomed. The older one felt at home from day one and was able to move around freely without us having to worry. For us as a family it was a wonderful, cozy vacation with super delicious food - compliments to the kitchen team. Super fast and uncomplicated organization of short-term trips or transfers and we loved the concept with the common room and dining area. There are many beautiful sights nearby and the staff were very friendly. Although the resort is a long drive from the airport, it's perfect if you are looking for something authentic and very personal in a local village.

GermanyWe didn’t like that we have to leave 😊
Roberto and April have created a paradise. That’s the only word that comes to my mind when I think of Sunset Beach resort. Everything is done with love and feeling. As a guest you feel very exclusive because it’s only 10 people in 5 rooms being hosted in this resort at the same time. It’s directly at the beach, you can play boule, take the SUP, you can take the kayak, you can swim in the swimming pool, you can use the gym, go by motorbike, or you use one of the comfortable benches or chairs and watch the sea and the islands, talking to other guests. Every cooking is handmade, food and drinks are excellent. Unfortunately, we could only stay for two nights. If we ever come back to Palawan, we will definitely stay longer in this paradise.

United StatesBasically nothing. The only thing to keep up with, is how much you are spending on your budget, haha!
Where do I start? Roberto met us as soon as we arrived and personally showed us to our room. (They have 5 available rooms total, so book early!) The rooms are very clean, and kept up really well. Roberto has maintenance working tirelessly along with himself to keep the place as pristine as possible. The food.....top rate. They have an eclectic menu of all kinds of food, along with traditional Filipino so you won't be disappointed! The staff.....Jen, Ren, Nonoy, Roberto, Angela, and all of them are such a joy to be around, it's like visiting family. We even joined in to playing Uno on Saturday night! The sunset on the beach is exactly as seen in pictures and don't forget to stay there, even after the sun goes down and the clouds begin to reflect the sun. I cannot tell you how much fun we had while being here. From driving cars to El Nido and island hopping, renting a motorbike to the overlook, walking the 7.1 mile beach, snorkeling Twin Reef(A MUST do!!!), hanging out in San Vicente (not spoiled by overtourism), hiking up to Bigaho Falls, swimming in the pool, and just hanging out with the folks at Sunset Beach Resort, they are the best!!!!

The Sunset Beach Resort is a little Palawan Gem. The location is beautiful and the resort lovely but the owner, Roberto, and his wonderful staff made the experience. The warmth and joy that the people brought to the place was evident at all times. They helped us book Island Hopping tours and taxis as needed and gave excellent tips and advice. The resort also has a restaurant on site and the food was delicious!
