Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PhilippinesStaff were so accommodating and friendly and easy going. There are also fun events each night that you get to do and join and fun way to meet other folks within the hostel too. Walkable establishments around!

NetherlandsThere was a lot of noise from the surrounding area unfortunately. There is some sort of outdoor sports field, where local kids have dance (?) classes. These start at about 8:30 every morning, with insanely loud music and counting. I could not sleep in at all.
The staff is super lovely, and will help you with whatever question or problem you have. The location of the hostel is also great, very close to everything. The beach is just 10 minutes of walking. And the rooms were very clean!

IrelandBecause of its amazing location it’s a bit loud at nighttime from the local community hall where they sing and dance a lot!
It’s in a good location near a great new food court and has lots of activities available in Moalboal. The staff were super helpful and calm. My friend has a severe nut allergy and they really did their best to make sure she was ok!

PhilippinesNone. I knew what I was getting into when I booked a party hostel.
Affordable price. Very social hotel. Shower and toilet room were always kept clean. Bed was wide. There were privacy curtains. Each occupant had their own lamp and socket. Great location. Walking distance to everywhere. Note: If you’re sensitive to noise, this hostel is not for you. Hostel parties last until midnight every night. People go back to the hostel drunk which means they can be quite loud and wake you up.

FranceOnly one bathroom/toilet for each dorm room isn't enough 😣 Also very noisy at nighttime because the door of the dorm didn't close properly...
Amazing staff, always helpful and available for anything you need. 10 minutes walk to go to the beach for snorkelling or eat something in a restaurant. Parties at night make you meet new people and free rhum coke is a big plus ! Had so much fun during my stay !!

PhilippinesThe bunk bed is too high for me (Filipino height here) hehehe I think there was no bidet in the room’s shared toilet 🤔 if I remember correctly. Or maybe there was I just didn’t use it 😂
I like the cushion I slept well on my bed. The staff is friendly too and very accommodating. Internet is fast. It’s location is ideal for guests who wants to do a bit of a walk to the beach. :) Since I am a sociable person, I like the themed activities each night although I wasn’t able to participate the first night because I was taking a shower.

AustraliaLocal dogs bark at night. It takes at least 10 minutes to walk to the beach.
The meals were excellent and cheaper than local restaurants. The staff spoke good English and were helpful, in fact I received a lot of help from them. The Hostel is in a quieter area of town.

PhilippinesWhat I didn't like was the staff. Some of them were quite disrespectful. On our second day, one of our foreign roommate was gonna checkout on that day and the staff were really noisy and making fun of him. They were so loud and one of my friend was annoyed because she couldn't sleep bcoz they were so noisy, that's why she went out. One of the staff called their co-staff and called her these inappropriate/rude words which i dont have a problem of but the fact that we are there as guests and we want some space, i also think that it's not appropriate to do that. Another thing that I didn't quite like is the aircon schedule. I understand that we need to save electricity but those times when we wanted to sleep in the afternoon after a hangover or swimming the whole morning at the beach, we wanted to sleep but we can't because it's too hot inside. Lastly, I would suggest to put a bidet in the bathroom pls 😅 Anyway, these are some of the things that I would like to suggest some room for improvement but nevertheless, my overall experience was so fun and memorable!!
I super duper like their gimmicks! We had so much fun playing beer pong with foreigners. We were the only filipinos at that time lol. It's just sad that we didn't get to join their sunday family dinner because we went home already by noon. I like the vibes and the space because it was not too compact, the owners were super nice and friendly and they have these stuff for leisure like the balance board, the "thing" where you can hang onto with your two hands. I will surely go back to Moalboal and will definitely check in at Hangover Hostel again! Also, the location was perfect because if we compare it to a marathon, it's like the starting line because when you go out of the hostel and walk straight ahead, you pass through different bars and restos and the chili bar is the finish line (which is the best)!!! We would definitely recommend this hostel!
