Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Amazing Experience! These beautiful huts are located directly at the beach, which was one of the most beautiful beaches of the Philippines we‘ve seen. Great snorkeling spot just around the corner. Very friendly staff who do everything to make the best out of your stay. Food was also really delicious. Highly recommend staying here! Thanks for everything :)

GreeceNot much to tell on the negative side. The area of the bar-restaurant could be a bit more well made (compared to how beautiful the huts are, it was very simple and indifferent). For food they have buffet 3 times per day on specific hours. It was ok but not something exceptional. The beach right in front of the hotel it's not the best of the island but everything is so close, you can just walk a bit further.
The huts are really well made, comfortable and beautiful. They are all right next to the sea and you can enjoy the view from the balcony. Also there are lots of hammocks, tables etc on the common areas where you can relax. The common bathrooms where plenty and always clean. There is also internet (not a thing in other parts of the island). I really liked Darocotan island, it has only a few eco-friendly hotels, no roads, vehicles, etc you can really relax and disconnect.

United KingdomI should have booked more nights!! I didn’t want to leave :(
I had such an amazing time staying at Isla! The whole team and volunteers were so welcoming and went above and beyond to make the experience the best. Everybody on the island was so friendly and really made the effort to get to know each guest. As a solo traveller this was such a good place to visit as it was the perfect balance of socialising in the evening and relaxing alone in the day. The facilities are absolutely stunning and the island is not one to miss! I especially enjoyed the gorgeous clear water and relaxing in one of the many hammocks in the shade. The buffet style food for breakfast, lunch and dinner was really delicious and different every day. I would recommend sleeping with your hut doors open so that you can see the amazing star view at night! I couldn’t recommend this place more, such a special experience!

PortugalIt was not a problem but would prefer to have more toilets and more cleaner and the lunch had not enough fish for the people that were in the resort.
The beach is awesome and almost desert. This resort is the perfect place to disconnect. The bungalows are great with fantastic sea views. Also its a great snorkelling place. Would definitely come again!

We had such an amazing 2 night island experience as Isla! The weather wasn’t the best when we arrived as it was torrential rain, but the staff went above and beyond to make sure we still had the most amazing first night! Karaoke, games, fire pit & all round great vibes! Food was served family style and was delicious for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We met so so many lovely people on the island and the island is a slice of paradise. The free snorkel gear was Also, the staff are truly amazing, Adam deserves a special mention!

MaltaThe only thing I didn’t like was the ducks! When they are hungry they become very demanding of getting their meal and it’s not only the host they chase - be aware of your finger and toes as they might get bitten 😂 Also prepare yourself with ear plugs if light sleeper.
Rare experience sleeping in the wooden-build huts. This type of accomadation is not for everybody as it won’t serve people in need of 4* hotel beds. However, who is looking for an unique experience during your El Nido trip and a little adventures from the normal holiday, you should try this! Staff is great and their buffet is amazing, like home-made Filipino food.

FranceThe downside for us was the food, which we found very overpriced and not great. 450 pesos/ meal for very limited choice and extremely small quantities. Moreover, I am a pescatarian and informed la Isla a few days before arriving (which they asked us to do) but the only vegetarian/pescatarian option was rice and a few green beans . Luckily they were able to make a quick omelette. I get that being in such a remote place oubviously puts the prices up but being charged 450 pesos for eating rice and an omelette was a bit shocking tbh - the max we ever paid for meals in the Philippines was 300 pesos/person (at really nice restaurants!).
The location is STUNNING and the cabins are beautiful with a great view. There is a shipwreck only a short swim from the beach and la Isla offers free snorkeling equipment which is a big plus (usually you have to pay around 150 pesos for renting these in the Philippines) There is a really nice vibe about the place and a good escape from busy el Nido

United KingdomUltimate paradise, from the moment you arrive until you leave it’s an amazing experience. The accommodation is comfortable, clean and has spectacular views. the team at Isla will look after you perfectly. it’s not 5 star it’s a way of life and you have to like camping/glamping and the outdoors or this is not for you. we did not want to leave and we are already planning our return. there is yoga, massage, kayaking, snorkelling or chill at the bar with a book or chat to the friendly team. this place is magical and you will unwind, relax and just get into the flow. thank you for such a wonderful experience. xx
