Areas for improvement: - We found the WiFi to be very hit and miss, but they have obviously made a huge effort to make the WiFi good, as the rooms all have their own router. - Maybe add poached eggs to the breakfast menu as an option, and also actual blueberry fruits for the pancakes (the blueberry jam was nice anyway but just a thought) - Though the pool was clean and lovely, there didn’t seem to be much flow/ recycling/filtering of the water when we were there (maybe the pump was off), but this results in a film of sunscreen on the surface of the water from everyone using it. Just a small thing we noticed. - Curtains in our room didn’t fully cover the window, so a lot of light came in in the morning when they were fully drawn.

Being a couple, we found this resort fantastic! We stayed 4 nights here and used it as a base to explore Panglao and Bohol. From the moment of check-in, to the moment of check-out, everything was great. Even before we arrived, the communication from Mayana was fantastic over the booking app, and they were very responsive to all queries we had. We used the air conditioned van option to get to the resort from the Tagbilaran Port (30 mins drive), and were greeted with a welcome drink and room briefing. We ate in the restaurant three of the nights, as it was very handy after coming in late and having driven a lot on the bike. Each night the food was good. The Osterich dishes are unusual, and I enjoyed the burger Option. My girlfriend is vegetarian, so we really appreciated that the chef was able to make her a veggie curry one of the nights. The breakfast was great each morning. You get a choice between an American breakfast, pancakes, omelette, Filipino breakfast. The staff were really accommodating in trying their best to get you any specific options/extras that weren’t on the menu. For instance, they made poached eggs for me one morning, though not on the menu 😊 We rented a good scooter from here also and had a great time! I read the reviews mentioning the pool being ‘murky’ or ‘unclean’, but honestly we thought the pool was fab! - not only was it a nice size nd design, but it was the first pool in the Philippines we have had that has part just 5ft deep, but the deep part is actually deep and over your head at 7ft. We loved that, so it caters for every type of guest. The rooms are modern and spacious, as are the bathrooms. The bed is really comfy which is really important! The A/C is great and the rooms have tinted glass for privacy which was a nice touch. The safe is big enough to put a laptop in when you are out and about, and the balcony and little table and chairs on it are great with a lovely view over the pool. The staff are all so nice.

In all honesty, we did not want to leave.

An impressive welcome/happy staff, efficient service. Massive super cool room and bathroom with well stocked fridge, mega comfy beds and pillows. Ground floor room was just a few meters from the pool. Bike, motorcycle and car rental simplified, ask the reception desk and it shall be done, efficient and cheap. Resort is meticulously maintained, pool, restaurant/bar area thoroughly enjoyable, 35 + degrees and staff are quick to move a fan to our table. The staff and owners made our stay most enjoyable. Thank you Diana and husband Maik ( the sexiest Swiss man on their resort) We’ll be back 🙏❤️

The Resort was lovely and the staff were welcoming and accommodating - really felt like home for the week we stayed. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the pool area and gardens well looked after. Would definitely recommend and look forward to staying here again!

It’s located a bit far from the Alona Beach, so it’s not convenient to rent a motorbike

Beautiful, small resort with a pool, hot tub and restaurant on-site! Staff were incredibly helpful in booking rides and activities! Loved that it was small - it felt very peaceful and intimate.

We spent 6 noghts there. It is a bit far from the famous locations and meeting points and the tuk-tuks somehow charge more around Bohol than in Cebu. One night there was a company being loud until 2am what did not make easy to wake up for the next day tour. The chef is great however the portions were a bit small (maybe only for me! 😀)

Hotel is a bit far from Alona beach and town.

Hotel is very clean, quiet, new rooms. Breakfast was very good as well. Stuff is very helpful and supportive. You can rent a scooter in the hotel directly. 7min to the white beach, 8, 9min to the south palm resort and 15min to Alona by scooter.

The Mayana resort is a cosy oasis, perfect for families with kids. I was truly impressed by the rooms that were superb, with great modern facilities and perfect cleanness. We used a pool everyday, that was clean and well maintained. Food was one of the best we have eaten on Panglao. I wish to come back to Mayana one day again.

Brand new hotel (1 yr) perfectly designed and very luxurious. I have read some reviews but most “flaws” are taken care of. Rooms are big and shower was hot with good water pressure. WiFi was perfect as all room have their own router now. Food in restaurant was very good (and must say we are quite critical). Like the bacon at breakfast was perfectly crispy or the caper sauce served with the tuna steak was very tasteful. But most important is that you can see that the people who work there are happy and having fun together. They are very kind and helpful (but not in the submissive way!) and speak very well English.

Very comfortable room (bed, hot shower, functional silent air conditioning, minibar, netflix). After a few days in accommodation in the jungle or right on the beach, this very comfortable accommodation was a pleasure.

The staff and owner allowed us a surprise bridal shower party in our room. The room was elegant and perfect for surprising your loved ones for special occasions. The staff were so friendly in accommodating us. We will definitely be back to here to celebrate special occasions.

The restaurant was a bit hit and miss. The food took 40 minutes to an hour to come and was pretty ordinary and salty and a lot of the menu is taken up by Ostrich meat dishes.

A quiet location to come back to after a day visiting the countryside, the rooms are new and spacious and the pool is nice and clean.

The Mayanas Resort was our last accomodation in the Philippines and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff was very helpful, they organized more trips for us which was great. The room was quite big and very clean. Also, the food in the restaurant was amazing, we came back hungry almost every evening just so we can eat at the hotel :D. The pool was always clean, we enjoyed using it in the evenings. Although the hotel is a little far away from Alona beach, but you rent a scooter at the hotel and so everything is accessible in 15 minutes around.
