Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelWe wanted the lounge bar to work on the days we were there. Unfortunately it only works on weekends. I think they can hire an employee to work on Mondays-Wednesdays too.
A lot! Big room, big balcony, nice furniture, great bath. We even tried the gym and it very good.

United StatesThe location is far from local places and kinda makes you have to rely on the resort amenities. Also the charge for extra things like paddle boards and the arcade. They do give you the 1st 30 minutes free in the arcade which consisted of pool tables, darts, air hockey and 2 PS5 stations. I would expect them to want to have people using these extra amenities but the extra charge detures guests instead of inviting them. Just be cautious of the beach its crushed shells not sand.
The room and views were amazing and clean facilities. The breakfast buffet was great and very diverse. The staff was always on point for any concerns and always there to help with questions. The infinity pools were very clean and never too busy. There is even a shaded pool beside the main pool if you don't want too much sun.

United KingdomFirstly, the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming, especially Lauren. They upgraded our room free of charge to one of the sea-view suites, which was amazing! The breakfast buffet is exquisite with many options available. The facilities are fantastic, you have two swimming pools to choose from as well as the sea. Unfortunately, we were only staying for one night, but we wished we could've stayed for longer!

IsraelReception explained the basic stingy rules of the house: 1 in-room coffee capsule per person per day. 1 bottle of water per person per day. seems a bit stingy in the wrong places for such a nice hotel. Couldn't swim in the sea off the private beach after 17:30 as there was no lifeguard, even though this was the best time to swim / snorkel.
Breakfast was basic good, Swimming pool was excellent to swim laps. Staff were amazingly friendly and eager to help

AustraliaTook a very long time for the hot water to come through in the shower. Bit of a walk to the main road to get snacks and eat out at a restaurant but the hotel can arrange a taxi for you. Far away from main city Cebu. Very expensive hotel for Mactan a lot of alternative cheaper options in the area but still worth it if you just want to stay at a resort to relax. More restaurants in the hotel would be ideal so guests don’t have to travel to the main road. There was more Filipino food served at breakfast than western options
Very clean and well maintained resort. Bed was super comfortable and aircon was nice and cold. Infinity pool was nice too and staff was super friendly. The bakery was good to have cheaper meals at as an alternative to the main dining area next to the pool that serves Thai food which is a bit expensive

SloveniaThere’s really nothing I didn’t like. Perhaps a bit distant from the city (walkibg distance)
We came for a short stop with the family - the place is great - pool, playing grounds for kids, games room , spa etc. What I really appreciated was the friendliness and kindness of the stuff - everyone was just great. Particularly, when I suddenly needed some medical intervention - priceless. They organized immediately the transport, called the hospital, checked several times back if ok. Amazing!

New ZealandThe Pillows were uncomfortable and gave me neck pains. A pillow menu would have been great. The air-conditioning was very noisy and didn’t control very well.
Huge bed, room and bathroom. The best food at the ground which was a pop-up food and drinks that provided us the best food we ever had while we travelled around the Philippines. The Eggplant and the Jackfruit salads were amazing and great accompaniment with the Chicken Adobo or Lichon pork. The snorkelling was ok along with water sports toys available. The kids game room was an added bonus. Would have been good to have more free time to use this without the extra cost.

SwedenHonestly, there was absolutely no flaws at The Reef.
I simply loved my stay at this hotel. It is on the higher end but everything is great. Two "Infinity-pools", private beach, great breakfast, a sense of relaxation everywhere. ALl the staff is super nice and helpful, and they even have a private car that can drive guests to closer places of Mactan. On top of that, John Mark, the concierge was always willing to help us out and was a great help.

United KingdomThe hotel transfer cost was 950. I paid 208 pesos for a white cab from the airport. I know you pay more for the convenience of having somebody collect you directly from the hotel but this is quite a big difference for the same journey. Note: cost would depend on traffic as it was metered. There are inflatables to use in the pool but they are 150 pesos per hour to hire (child price) I feel this charge is unnecessary. If you offer this as a hotel then just let the guests use them and limit the number allowed in the pool at once. Non motorised water sports like kayak on the beach is not free either. Again seems an unnecessary charge at an already expensive resort. Maybe offer one free hour for this at least. Only Two bottles of water a day are free in the room others are chargeable. I feel this should be at least one per person free a day as we had a party of three. Or have a water machine on each level hallway. Very minor but the room had a conditioning shampoo instead of separate conditioner. For a 5* I expect separate conditioner. Games room chargeable after first hour, again the charge seems unnecessary and acts as a deterrent from using it at all. Ideally would want lots of kids in and out of there so the children on the resort can make friends. Slight damp smell in the room, didn’t bother us but there seems to be a ventilation issue as the bathroom also gets a lot of condensation despite the extractor fan.
This hotel and its grounds are absolutely beautiful, the decor is fitting with the name all based around coral and nature it is very beautifully done. The beach is also beautiful and the water is nice and clear. It is small however and the sand is mixed with small rocks but still good for swimming. The room was beautifully appointed, we had two double beds and a pool/sea view which was stunning. Smart air con system fitted so it turns off when the balcony door is open but automatically turns back on when it’s closed. Air con worked really well, bathroom beautiful, overhead shower was lacking pressure slightly and the water didn’t get hot even on full heat. The food is lovely but relatively expensive and as there’s only two places to eat after a few days it can be repetitive. I feel two places to eat (one being for small bites and pastries/coffee only) is lacking for 5 star. The facilities are good, they have a lovely gym, beautiful spa, games room and kids club. I personally didn’t use the kids club but I wouldn’t hesitate to trust these lovely people with my children. I do feel that if this hotel is at capacity it would be uncomfortably busy in terms of space around the pools and breakfast buffet seating but as people do day trips etc maybe they get around this issue as I didn’t experience having to fight for a sunbed during my stay. The staff, I have saved the best for last. The staff absolutely make this place, I have stayed in many hotels all around the world but the hospitality here is out of this world. From having every door opened for you to being greeted by everyone from reception staff to house keeping. The reception staff will greet you before you’ve even reached the desk, they never look too busy to deal with a guest, as soon as you walk in they are prepared to deal with your request. The pool staff are friendly, lovely, helpful and caring. In fact all the staff seem to truly care for your safety and want to ensure your stay is 5*.

Great hotel! Rooms are big and clean. Internet works very well as we had to do some work for few days. Fruit platter was a very nice touch in the room. We got few massages that were amazing! Breakfast was really good with a lot of variety and omelette station. We ate few dinners as well and it was really good. Pool and beach was very nice. We did some snorkel that is right off the beach. South KoreaAs I experienced, some of rooms are not suitable for luxury customers. When I booked the rooms, I did not know my room’s status, which is cannot see the sea view. For me, some of cheaper price was not big matter. If I stayed the room that can see sea view, I would be satisfied more. Anyway, I was good so far
I was satisfied with the new facilities of hotel..
