Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWished we had stayed much longer
What a fabulous place to stay right in the heart of Port Barton. Five minutes walk from lots of great restaurants and the beach yet set in a lovely quiet garden away from the hustle and bustle of the town. What makes Theresa's place so special is the wonderful staff. Annie, Lori and Melba are some of the kindest, caring and most friendly hosts we have ever met. Everyday they will make sure your room is spotless. Make you breakfast. Bring hot water for coffee and refreshments. They can rent you a scooter. Book taxis, boat trips and help with your onward journey. Nothing is too much trouble. We had a really nice stay and after travelling around Palawan for two weeks we revisited and stayed a further three nights. Fabulous xx

Extremely clean and quiet. This place was so lovely- I would return any time. Coffee/hot water waiting whenever I got back and Theresa and her sister are by far the best hosts I ever encountered traveling the world. They arrange whatever you need and make you feel home after you enter the place. 3min to walk to the beach. Would def. Recommend to stay there

NetherlandsBest stay in Port Barton! Why? Because of the spatial and very clean rooms. But the very best part is the staff: they are so helpfull and kind 🥰. Also good wi-fi, airconditioner (not that loud!) and free coffee/tea waiting for you on your cozy porch. Since the town is really small you can walk everything within 5-7 minutes. They also can do your laundry (cheap!) which is very convenient. This place (and Port Barton ofcours) deserves all the credits they can get. To end things of: they also helped us so much by retreiving something we lost and they arranged a delivery to Puerto Princessa before took our flight.

NorwayDark interior. Difficult to find the sweet spot with the shower. It was either too hot or too cold.
It was a bit difficult to find this place because at the entrance the sign above was for another hotel. Great location to the beach and market. Lovely staff - even though they charged us a bit pricier ticket from Port to PP.

CanadaI stayed at Theresa's Pension House for 5 nights with two friends and we were blown away by Annie and Theresa’s exceptional hospitality - their warmth and care really made our experience unforgettable. We booked the family room and it struck a perfect balance between comfort and simplicity. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and the light duvets were a rare and welcome find in Asia. The air conditioning was also powerful and reliable. Breakfasts on the porch were always a moment of peace before we set off on our daily adventures, and Annie was so friendly and helpful in providing advice and booking motorbikes and shuttles for us. Their attentiveness and care for us went above and beyond when we mentioned that a nearby rooster had disturbed our sleep. Without hesitation, they kindly requested their neighbor relocate it – a gesture that speaks volumes about their commitment to guest comfort. Theresa's Pension House is more than just a place to stay; it's an experience that captures the essence of Filipino hospitality. Don't hesitate to book - this spot is a hidden gem, and we would return in a heartbeat!

United KingdomWe loved everything. There wasn’t a safe in the bungalow but there was a wardrobe with a padlock and key which was perfectly suitable for us.
We absolutely loved Theresa’s. It completely exceeded our expectations. We were a little apprehensive about our stay in Port Barton given things we’d read about how off the grid it is with no aircon/electriciy etc but this was absolutely not the case at Theresa’s. The wifi is brand new and was really good. The accommodation is really comfortable with lovely big beds and duvets, great aircon and a really modern bathroom and shower. This was probably one of our most comfortable stays on our trip across Asia. There was a lovely balcony area outside our bungalow which we also enjoyed. The location is great, walking distant to everywhere and everything you might need. Communication with Theresa ahead of our stay was great and her family looked after us really well while we were there. There was hot water for tea and coffee all the time, they booked boat trips and transport for us and even provided breakfast on our departure day.

In the middle of the lovely village we stayed in a beautiful wooden house with our own patio. Very cosy location. Hot water for making coffee and tea every day fresh on our table. Annie is the best host you can wish for. She will arrange everything you need. She even got me glue to repair my slipper. It’s a lovely green garden and a quit ambiance. Loved it there.

Everything! The room was lovely and as advertised, super clean and the bed very comfy and it was quiet at night. The location was great too and you were able to get around town and the beach within minutes. Theresa and everyone i met there were unbelievably wonderful, warm hearted and helpful people, I'm glad to have stayed with them and met them! I really enjoyed my time in the beautiful, relaxed and layed back Port Barton and would be happy to go again!
