Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

KazakhstanNot the most comfortable bed, creaking at even the lightest movement. The parking area is a bit small. The AC is noisy and installed on the bed level (just below the window)
The hotel is essentially a transformed old house with distinctive Spanish architecture, enriching the overall city experience. The staff is friendly and accommodating.

United StatesWiFi was very bad, come and go. Not dependable. Parking was limited. Some vehicles had to be moved in order for others to get out.
Air conditioner worked fine. Shower had hot water and strong water pressure. Location was excellent, close to restaurants, banks, area sites to visit, all within walking distance. Horse and buggy rides available. Tricycle rides available. Other hotels close by.

Philippines1. You need to bring a mosquito repellants though they put an insect trap below the console table 2. At least there were toothbrushes, extra hand towels, and slippers 3. Open Cafe or a Buffet breakfast meal
I like the hotel because of the following: 1. Location - perfect hotel for the perfect location as it is very near Calle Crisologo and other tourist spots 2. Ambiance and charm of the hotel- so cozy and old looking perfect for IG/FB posts 3. Smell of the hotel- We liked it so much as the smell of air freshener matches the old smell of the hotel 4. Bathroom - Not too small and modern, with hairdryer, bidet, hot and cold showers, with rug, and amenities except for toothbrush. Door can be locked 5. Amenities like coffee were perfect though there was no tea 6. Cable TV- bit with limited channels 7. A/C is old but in good condition, it's too cold when we entered the room 8. Staff were very accommodating, polite and courteous 9. Enough parking space 10. Beds were comfortable to sleep on

ThailandThe wooden floor creaks and you can hear footsteps. The place is beautiful nevertheless. The lobby is on second floor, but the hotel has no elevator, your heavy suitcase just be hand carried up the steps.
The hotel was the house of an important 18th century local personality. The hotel is an old Spanish style mansion, walking the corridor give you the old world atmosphere. The ground floor breakfast room is also traditional Spanish colonial.

United KingdomAircon a bit noisy. Shower door seals are broken. Would be nice to have a hand towel. It would be helpful to let guests know that there are alternatives to their native breakfast upon check-in. I only discovered that there are other breakfast options on our 2nd day. Water kettle needs inspecting as it did not automatically switch off, a bit worrying.
Brilliant location. Quiet central. Staff helpful. Moved my mum's room to ground floor as she struggled to use stairs. Hotel transport very comfortable. Their native and American breakfast are substantial; a great start to the day.

AustraliaHowever, one of my friends staying there with me did not like the old squeaking floors and the oldness of the building. You cannot please everyone! One problem was that we could not open the door of our accommodation but there was always one of the staff to open it, fortunately. A pity there is no swimming pool, as it was very warm weather.
I really enjoyed my stay there , and liked it and have no complaints- I love the old world of the rooms and I like old houses and homes, especially with such history!

United KingdomThe aircon was a little noisy and next to the bed and don't expect "a room with a view".
Try the local-style breakfast. Tasty rice-based meal sets you up for the day ahead and as much brewed coffee as you want. The room was big enough with en-suite shower and the ceiling was wood-paneled and painted pleasingly.
