Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThe room was narrow, as the bathroom for the price. For this price we had already had a much larger room and a swimming pool ... but ir seems Port Barton has not a lot of tourists and is more expensive ...
Location was not too far from the beach. Room well decorated.

GermanyWe only had a small communication problem with the booking of our island hopping tour, which stressed us out in the morning. We had asked several times if the shared tour with only 3-4 stops was possible and it was confirmed to us several times that the tour we booked would only have 3-4 stops. We then booked a private tour on the beach because the shared tour had six stops. It cost us time and nerves, I think that was a one-off thing, but I wanted to mention it.
Well located. Surrounded by great bars and restaurants. Everything within walking distance in a few minutes.

PhilippinesI like the place but there's only 2 things I hope they will provide in eveey room, it's the bidet and an electric kettle that's missing.
The staffs were very accomodating. I like the lush surroundings when you stepped out in your room, very relaxing to the eyes.

AustraliaThe room is very small and has a strange musty smell about it. The toilet doesn't have a door which is pretty odd. There is no kettle in the room, but the hosts will boil you some water for a coffee or tea if asked.
The villa was set in a nice peaceful garden, just 5 mins walk out of town. It was nice as it was near where locals live and on the weekend lots of children and families were out and about.

PhilippinesWe had a lovely stay. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help, they organised an island hopping tour and transfer to Puerto Princessa. We had to amend the booking at short notice which they accommodated. Location is good, only a short walk to the beach and restaurants. The place is quiet at night so sleeping wasn’t a problem. The place very peaceful could have easily stayed longer. Would definitely recommend to others to stay here.

GermanyThe only thing I didn't like too much and didn't know beforehand is that the toilet had no door or anything. So privacy is not given at all.

SpainThe room was quite cramped for two people. Although the hotel offered a room change, we opted to switch hotels in search of one with a pool.
I appreciate the convenient location and the staff's friendliness. The room was well-equipped with essentials like air conditioning and both warm and cold water options.

PortugalWell this was the worst experience we had in the Philippines. The room had a lot of ants, some mosquitoes and we even killed a cockroach inside the room. We could still forgive this, given that Valerie's space is a "little forest", however, knowing this, the room should be cleaned daily. It was never cleaned, which is unacceptable for one of the most expensive accommodations in Port Barton. Furthermore, there is no privacy between the bedroom and the bathroom as there is no division. The bed is not confortable and you don't fit if you are more than 1.8m tall. The worst part is the attention given to the customer in Valerie's space, in particular, Valerie herself, the owner of the space. First she was rude when we asked her what was the best price for the shuttle to Puerto Princesa. Secondly, we were promised that there would be someone to prepare breakfast at 6am, we waited until 6.45am, no one showed up. Finally, more serious, we asked a massage shop to come to the accommodation to give us a massage and the masseuses said that Valerie charged a fee. Valerie wanted to charge a 40% fee!!! With so much on offer and such friendly people in the Philippines, in particular in Port Barton, I don't consider this hotel to be even an option.
The bathroom comodities were ok. The AC worked fine.

Very clean , beautiful area of Port Barton. Lovely rooms beautifully decorated wich invite you to unwind. Amazing breakfast and services with very helpful advice, recommendations, and the chance of booking amazing days out with the accommodation directly. The best of all was the team . Valerie and her team are the most amazing and genuine people we met during our time in the Philippines. Always made us laugh, and we had a great time on rainy days just chatting/chilling with them. If you are staying in Port Barton, do not hesitate! 1000% recommended.
