Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomA little far from San Juan which is where most of the restaurants are, about 25 mins. But close to Lazi so we ate a couple of nights at Twenty Four which is v good!
Good location for exploring most of the island if you have a scooter. Nice and quiet. Opposite max monkey if u fancy going for a few drinks.

United KingdomAs we were near the front of the property, it was noisy in the mornings - dogs, roosters, people chatting, motorbikes starting (parked outside our room). There isn't much you can do (earplugs?) but being in room one or two you're probably at a bit of a disadvantage as you're closer to reception. It wasn't a deal breaker for us, we stayed for 6 nights.
I thought the location was fine, you do have to hire a scooter but I think you would have to do that anywhere as all of the highlights are across the whole island. We got a great price for our scooter from Xylla Guesthouse. You are close to the waterfalls, the small town Lazi and there are a handful of great restaurants in the local area if you have a little look on google maps. The room was basic, the air condition was powerful, there was a table and chairs in the room, seating outside the room, we got given some toiletries as well.

CanadaFantastic stay for what you are paying (very affordable). Sure there are ants in the room, but this is to be expected for the price! Staff are very friendly, Marina welcomed us in as family and showed us some of her edible plants on her land. She cooked us some of the best food we ate on the island (breakfast and dinner available by request). Great location to waterfalls, balette tree and access to mountains. Really, it's central to everything but you need a motorbike (which she rents for cheapest on the island) to explore. Mad Monkey is across the road for food or meeting people. Also there is karaoke machine, we had a lot of fun singing with the family one night :)

AustraliaI enjoyed my stay.
A quiet location on a property with some cute farm animals. It was very close to swimming spots, waterfalls and attractions. It was convenient having a motorbike and driving a short distance to the local town for the fresh food markets, eateries and some secondhand shops. Marina was a lovely host and was very hospitable. I really liked being able to order meals from her too - she’s a great cook! The room had a fan, a decent shower and the bed was comfortable.

United KingdomJust a note that the standard double room is fan only - after an uncomfortable night, we ended up paying extra for AC which was much better. Please note there is no hot water at this accommodation.
Clean and free water refills. Close to waterfalls and away from the hustle and bustle. Able to rent motorbike from owners for a decent price. AC worked well!

GermanyOur arrival was quite strange as the owners weren't there and the child didn't know anything about our arrival. The following days the family wasn't really there and it was quite hard to get in contact with them if there was something needed.
It's a good and affordable place. When the family was there, they were quite helpful and we were able to ask every night for hot water. They have like four different WiFis, so it's a great chance that one is working like in our case. All in all not a bad place to stay!

GermanyI understand that the Philippines are a tropical area and that ants and other animals are a normal thing, but the amount of ants and dirt (especially some kind of animal poo) in the two rooms I had was just absurdly. I did switch rooms because I hoped an other room would be cleaner, which was not the case because it ended up to be even worse. In addition to the ants, animal poo and other things there were spiders as big as my hand in my second room which caused me to be up all night because I literally could hear them walk on the walls. I left the Guesthouse earlier because I couldn’t bear it anymore. I’m sorry to say this but for me it was maybe the worst and dirtiest accommodationI had in my life.

AustraliaI stayed in a few different rooms. Both the a/c room and fan economy room were good value for money. Some nights were cool so I had the fan on and window open and it was perfect temperature. There is a mosquito net in the window so no mosquitos were inside. Good level of cleanliness. They offer laundry services here and I was happy with my washing. Good scent. Nice to see a karaoke machine in the main lobby.
