Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyThere is a huge issue with running water. We have been told that it effects all island, but apparently Hidden of Cailan was the only one place in all El Nido where you have to use bucket instead of shower. Drinkable water was not always available.
Staff was very gentile and helpful, air conditioning works well, same as the wi-fi connection. We have been offered the scooter for one day that turns out to be really useful to visit better the the island. The structure offers loundry service paid for kg, however invoiced weight didn't correspond to real weight of our clothes (some kg has been added, but after checking it at the reception desk suddenly correct amount has been charged).

RussiaThe walls in the house are very thin, but they provide earplugs. There is also a problem with the lack of water in the tap, but the guys brought bottles of water every day 👍🏼
We would like to say a huge thank you to Ashley and Iver for their care. We lived for almost a month in this hotel. The guys organized great bikes and transfer for us. They helped with everything we needed. Amazingly kind people, thank you for your help :)

United KingdomThis was an issue completely out of the hotels control, but in the area where the hotel is there was a water shortage at the time we stayed (End of March) because there had been no rain for ages. Ashley always provided water if and when we needed it for showering etc, but If this would be an issue for you then maybe choose a different area :)
Ashley was really helpful with anything we asked for, the rooms were nice and comfortable and the AC was great, only about a 15 minute walk into El Nido Proper where all the shops and bay front restaurants are.

AustraliaDue to the water restrictions in El Nido (as March is dry season) we had to be mindful of the times when we had running water. The staff were so accommodating ensuring that we always had enough water in the bucket and it made for a local experience!
We loved the staff and they made us feel so welcome and at home. We especially enjoyed the complimentary scooter hire - this was absolutely a bonus!

United KingdomAs advertised in the photos the walls are very thin and they don’t block out any noise. Ear plugs are provided which help with the noise coming from other rooms but don’t help with the noise of traffic in front of the house or the building works happening next door.
Lovely property and friendly hosts. Photos are accurate. Comfortable bed, hot water, strong wifi, clean room. Good location, a 10-15 minute walk or quick moped ride into town. Laundry services and convenience stores are available just a few minutes walk away.

AustraliaThe water went off during my stay however I think this is more specific to the area rather than the property itself.
It’s a little out of town and nice to be away from the hustle and bustle and noise of central El Nido. But it’s easy enough to get into town via foot or motorbike/tricycle ride organised for free through the host. Beautifully designed interior so it feels natural and homely. Excellent service! Ashley was kind enough to help be book onward travel, tours, organised my laundry to be done and arranged breakfast. Thanks so much for the wonderful stay!

NetherlandsThe owner was very helpful and kept asking if everything was okay for us. We got a free motorcycle for the length of our stay.
Stayed there in April, unfortunately there was no running water due to the recent heat. We only got a notification about this the day before arrival. They provided us with water from plastic tanks for showering and flushing of the toilet. The portable shower provided did not work, so we had to go to a nearby hostel to shower. Room was not cleaned once during our 5 night stay here. Definitely bring ear plugs because the walls are thin and there is a lot of noise from passing traffic.

PhilippinesThere's no water in the shower due to the summer season, but I don't mind since they always provide a bucket of galloon every time especially if I need it.
I enjoyed my stay here. I feel I'm home. They have free coffee and I can even use the kitchen, they have a refrigerator. The room is simple but very comfortable even though the walls are really thin and can hear the next door but it doesn't bother me, like what they said the hotel was inspired by the traditional house the "Bahay Kubo" understandable since I'm Filipino. The staff are nice, kind and approachable, ready to help in any matter. I actually extended my stay here for 2 more nights, glad they have available slots. They offer motorbike and island tours. Near the small store where I can buy snacks and drinks.

United Kingdom24 hours prior to arrival we were informed by the hotel that El Nido faces a water crisis. Consequently for the duration of our stay we had no access to running water (had to shower and wash hands with a bucket and manually fill up the toilet each time to flush). This was particularly annoying as we could hear a running shower from our neighbours room. Initially the on-site staff kept telling us the shower was working but it was evident it didn’t when they kept giving us a bucket (we resorted to showering at a near by hostel). Once we got in contact with booking.com the owner of the hotel herself was so helpful and kind - offered us free shuttle service and free use of motorbike. She also frequently messaged us to ensure we were being well taken care of. However, for future reference, it would be nice if guests could be made aware of the water situation several days prior to booking as other hotels did not face the same water crisis that this hotel did.
great location (10 min walk to main strip), good breakfast (toast, eggs, fruit or pancakes), clean bedrooms with nice homely touches.

United KingdomWe don’t have anything to complain about. Everything was perfect as it is. People that complain about the noise or cannot sleep due to other people talking, the noise of the dogs or motorbikes should read the description properly and next time maybe book a resort and you won’t complain about the noise. Ashley provides earplugs so next time have good use of them if you are a light sleeper.
We loved everything, from the decor, to the hosts and the location. Ashley & her family were absolutely lovely people, very helpful, friendly and polite. We will definitely come back on a next trip to El Nido. Thanks for everything Ashley & Family 🫶🏽

GermanyThe level of noise is unbearable and completely ruined our stay in this otherwise lovely accommodation. Since it is located at the main street of the district, all the noise from the many motorbikes and people nearby comes through the thin walls and never seems to die off. Dogs were barking and howling every single night. Earplugs were being provided, but they did not help much. By the end of our stay, we were quite sleep-deprived. On top of that, the house next door is currently a construction site which adds a lot of noise during daytime. The room did not get cleaned during our stay (7 nights), which we found a bit odd.
We loved the location: Restaurants, laundry, shops, the main district are all in walkable distance. Ashley was very welcoming and always there for us via WhatsApp. They are renting motorbikes which we found very reliable and well priced.
