Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicWell, it was in a new renovated building but everything was made of the cheap cheesy materials. Basically just walls and beds. No personal touch, nothing. Very boring and impersonal. The stuff didn’t have city maps, didn’t know about anything and basically just passed me the keys and that’s it. Friendliness 3/10 It had a open outdoor space but it was unpleasant to be there and it looked like they just dropped there everything that they didn’t find a purpose elsewhere.
It was new

BelarusNoisy at night, windows are on the side of a road - a lot of drunk companies passing by and constant noise from traffic. Didn’t find towels.

Czech RepublicIt's not a traveller hostel. It's so cheap that there are some people staying there for a long period. It doesn't have the hostel atmosphere you would expect to find. Most of the people I saw during my stay weren't tourists but workers practically living there. I am not saying that they are bad people but I am writing this for travellers who would expect to meet fellow travellers in this hostel. There was a guy staying in my room for a long period, he and his clothes smelled so bad that I couldn't sleep at night. I am not exaggerating, he was stinking so badly that it physically disturbed me. It was a horrible experience. 😢 The most basic point of staying in a hostel is to have a place to sleep but I couldn't even sleep during the night, so, it was a big waste of money for me. The kitchen didn't have a proper fridge with freezer, it was a soft drink fridge from a store, the kitchen always stank because of the people living there and cooking smelly food. Again, it's a decent hostel but definitely not for travellers. If you are too desperate to find a place to stay and you don't mind the smell, maybe you can give it a try.
It's a decent hostel, quite new, very clean shower and toilet inside the room. There is a żabka right across the street. It's in a quiet neighbourhood, no party zone, 10 minute walk to the center, it's a nice walk if you don't mind walking. The staff were really hospitable and helpful.

HungaryIts near busy road which covered with stones. If you open the window you are not able to sleep because of car traffic and constantly shouting drunk people. There is no air conditioning. The kitchen would be good if it is for 5-7 rooms, but it is for 50 or more. You can imagine the overcrowded mornings or other periods. There is no fridge in the room.
Close to city centre, aprx.10 minutes walk. Parking is in C zone.

PolandThe bathroom was already absolutely filthy when I arrived and it wasn't cleaned a single time for my entire three night stay. There are also mold spots starting to appear on the walls of the shower. Bed sheets were fresh and clean, but the mattress itself was filthy, with dried blood, hair and grime all over The room was small, there was no air conditioning, and little ventilation which combined with hot weather made staying in the room a rather unpleasant experience.
Spacious, well-equipped kitchen and eating space (including a roofed outside area). Ok location, walking distance to center, żabka store nearby. Well designed sleep cubicles with curtains, a shelf, and a power socket. Solid-looking lockers. All in all, the hostel looks and feels new at first glance, but there are already signs of neglect and lack of maintenance starting to appear.

PortugalThere is no daily cleaning, nor even of toilet. No daily removal of trash. Located in ugly street. But it is totally unexclusable that an hotel in touristy Wroclaw has recepcionists who don't speak one word of English. The male recepcionist was rude, a real jerk, nasty . I stayed one week and after check out he told me I could not stay in the premises(there is a living room, empty) . He refused to store my bag for even 1 hr. He shouldn't be working there. How can tourists stay in a place that refuses to engage in communication or refuse to speak a word of english? Hotel licence should be removed by Municipality. It is a new construction, but without any cleaning standards. Rooms and toilets should be cleaned daily.

HondurasThe kitchen could be clean, in two days I could not stand the smell that came from it. The first night I got a room with ventilation problems and was extremely dusty, which made me cough the whole night. There is no facilities for people with special needs, like a girl in a wheelchair that struggled a lot in the same room I was. The hostal is not so close to the city center, and is located in a very noisy street, if you get a room in front of the street you will not be able to sleep, I didn't the first night, so I requested a room change.
The staff is really friendly and willing to help, and the little curtains in every bed are great!

I had paid in advance. Manager hands me 70 zlty in cash and tells me to leave. He already had the door open. Rudest place and I've stayed in over 100 hostels. Don't bother going hear.

PolandStaff has no idea what hostel is. Hot water wasn’t working. i went down to the reception and ask about it. One of the staff came to the room and said it’s working but the hot water was only lasting two minutes. I told him this. Then he told me to i have to speak Polish. Then he insisted on that there is hot water and i’m lying. I’m a tourist i don’t have to speak Polish. i found this attitude very rude. None of the staff weren’t speaking English. In the hostel there is nothing you can feel the hostel spirit.Common rooms are dark and empty. I was gonna get something from my room they didn’t let my friend to upstairs. Room had a weird smell. I’m not going to refer or stay this hostel ever again. Not a delightful experience.
