Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LithuaniaThe outside door to the room had a janky lock; it seemed you could open the locked door with a good tug (good thing I didn't pack my laptop) 🤷 Not sure everything was clean, for the room had a funny smell to it upon my return from the concert. My morning "inspection" found crumbs, and sand under the "perma-sheet" on the mattress; the mattress itself had a huge dry yellow spot on it, as if someone had wet the bed, and they just kept using the mattress afterwards. That might have been the source of the funny smell; that or the malfunctioning radiators. I only noticed the trapped air around 3AM (it was getting colder outside, and only half of the radiator by my bed was actually hot); had to solve it myself successfully. The regulator nobs on the radiators were either gone or would turn around themselves without decreasing the heat output; took me some time fiddling with them to get the heating just right, while trying not to break anything more, than it already was. There also was not shampoo or soap in the bathroom, and the shower stall was a bit small (if you really don't want to use individually packaged items, mount a dispenser on the wall like all the other's do...). It's a motel, and should advertise itself as such. Also, "Family room" with no TV?... Not that I missed it.
It was warm, even with air trapped in the radiators

UkraineI was really surprised for the additional charge for the towels, information about which are nowhere to be forewarned. Very stuffy inside the room and the ventilation is really weak, even more, window can not be completely opened and ventilator is not enough to feel yourself comfortable. We stayed in the middle of August, and preferred to walk around the streets to stay in the room for a while. I had to cool down in the shower all the time so it wouldn’t melt down from the stuffiness in the room.
the room facilities were more or less ok

CroatiaBeds are awful, every time anyone turns in their bed, the rest of the hostel hears it. No common area besides the kitchen, that stinks all the time. The cleaning ladies are extremely unpleasant, one of them actually screamed at me for trying to make a private quick phone call in a room with the washing machines. I had no idea it was employee only becuase in previous two days I saw several people going in and out that were not the hostel employees and there was no sign. In any case, there are ways of polite telling, screaming is not the way you treat the guests.
Not extremely far from the center.

PolandThe isn't anything I didn't like. Everything was ok. If anything, maybe some usable coffee mugs for people who didn't bring their own so they can have that cup of tea or coffee in the morning. Other than that, I have nothing more to say.
This hostel was great. The location is not too far from the city center (just a bus or train ride away). The rooms were cozy, the people inside were clean, and the beds were super comfortable. The perfect place for a quick rest. And the kitchen is massive. They have pots and pans to cook with, just bring your own food and bring your own coffee mug.

PolandShowers are bad, towels are worse and the worst was materaces, very sick ones, difficult to sit and sleep on them. Better sleep on the flour, but it smells like 10 people that were there before. A tiny apartment was unventilated
Location is the only advantage.

UkraineI tried to work in the kitchen, but the staff were too loud sometimes and didn't care about me. Today having a coworking space could be a big advantage. Only one shower, no toilet paper.
Complimentary towel, big kitchen, socket near the bed, nice bed, nice receptionist. Close to tram stop and groceries store. Free tea and coffee.
