Breakfast was really good, willing and friendly staff, localization not is central, but by taxi you can get there paying around 35/40 zlots only. Calm and beautiful area, principally during the winter. There’s a ski near, 10 min walking (Nosal Ski), bus stop 3 minutes walking from the hostel.

There is an oil heating in this hostel and you can smell it all the time. All the equipment is little outdated. Taps and showers are hard to set.

Bus no. 11 that connect to the city is not frequent but you can always refer to the timetable that is pretty reliable.

The hostel is warm and cozy and all the staff are so friendly and helpful. You can see the beautiful view just from the window of the hostel.

The drying machine doesn't work well so my laundry were finished wet. The location is far from the city centre so it's a hassle because we have to find a taxi and the public transport in Zakopane is unreliable.

The cats, the wooden house, the beautiful forest surrounding, the helpful receptionists, the hiking trail map given for free, the lots of (2 outside and 1 in the 8-bed room) bathrooms, the delicious nourishing breakfast, the laundry service, the NO SHOES INSIDE RULE -- hence the cleanliness, the useful kitchen, the big refrigerator and the food-naming system, the fast wifi, the cozy living room, the hiking gear renting services.

Breakfast should not be said to be offered for free. It is very limited and finished just by a few guests.

I fell in love with this place, it's very calm, clean and cozy. you can find nice books and table games in shared living room, find everything you need in the kitchen and even rent some sportswear at the reception. the house itself looks like it was inspired by soulful travel movies and books :) people I met there were also very very nice and open-minded. regret I couldn't stay longer but I'm sure I'll come back in the nearest time

loved every aspect of GBL. The location was perfect (right next to a trailhead and a bus stop), the vibe was very cozy, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I want to come back just to stay here!

There is nothing to me to not like

I spent my time here with a lot of fun, I really liked this place. Even i took extra one day to stay here and canceled my Krakow journey. even i could cry when i leaving the hostel. For sure next time i also choose this hostel. Thanks for hostel organizators and volounters.

The people who work there and those who visit the place are simply amazing. Amazing atmosphere and great location, right at the beginning of the trail which directs branches to a lot of interesting places.

This hostel is like grandma's house, fantastic! Soo comfortable, cozy, cool, the environment, breakfast and staff are amazing. If you booked 2 nights (like me), probably you will extend your stay for more 4/5 nights (like me and a lot of people hahaha) I'm travelling during 4 months and this place are the best hostel I stayed in Europe! Zakopane is incredible and I loved my time in the mountains! ♥️

There was nothing I didn't like. I can imagine, some people would prefer a cleaner bathroom, but I am just fine with what I've seen. If you need it super clean and quiet, get a hotel room for yourself :)

With 15 years of experience in hostel surfing, I can truly say this place is a gem! I found exactly what I was looking for: A cozy place with international travellers willing to chit-chat and hike. Without this hostel my vacation in the mountains would by far not have been as nice.

Was a bit dusty. Windows weren't clean to see beautiful nature outside.

Location is wonderful. Friendly stuff, breakfast, wooden house, sightseeing from the window, cats and animals in territory. Veery good for young travelers ) or to book places for company;) Girl on reception was very kind and lovely ) Table games such as monopoly (Zakopane ) with lokal objects in game )

GBL has amazing atmosphere, beautiful place with lot of great personalities and cats :) which is great that this place is animal friendly. In the offer you have a breakfast, which is super great when you are going for trekking and might not have much power after long day to even go to the store and buy some food. All day you can drink hot drinks. Rooms has comfortable beds and beautiful view from the window to the forest. Big plus for the "big city people" ;) fully recommended and I will also back

The only problem for me is that only Bus11(closer to the hostel) or Bus14 can reach the place. The buses are not that frequent.

The staff are friendly. It's like going to a gathering instead of a travel stay! A simple night with breakfast provided before the hike is very considerate. Yay

Everything great, wonderful atmosphere and girls working there are really nice and helpful. There are guests from all over the world. Nice decor and living room where you can spend time with others in the evening. Bed was comfortable and the hostel is located close to the trails. Nothing- yes some may moan that the kitchen is small but everyone just works round each other and takes it in turn to cook/cook together so not a complaint from me at all, just added to the family atmosphere :)

This is the best hostel I have ever stayed in! The most amazing cosy family atmosphere, communal area cosy and welcoming, felt more like a home than a hostel. All the staff were like friends, giving great advice and nothing was ever too much. Would have happily moved in and stayed forever if didn't have to go back to work. As soon as I walked in on the first day, I felt welcomed and instantly relaxed. Calm social evenings if want e.g. film nights- or early nights respected after a hard days walking! Free tea and coffee, games, cards, books and a great blanket basket! Across the road from the bus station to Zakopane and entrance to the most beautiful natural park. Just amazing and would love to come back- would have happily paid so much more as great value for money!

The hostel, the atmosphere, the staff are all extremely cozy and warm. It really felt like a little retreat away from the hustle and bustle of life and a place where you could wind down, have hot chocolate indoors and recharge. I absolutely adored it.
