Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

UkraineCompletely transparent entrance door to the sauna and occasional presence of children there.
We chose this hotel mainly because of the pool and sauna. Everything was great. Unless the sauna entrance is entirely transparent and other visitors to the pool area pass by the door, it would be great to cover the doors with a matte film. A separate question for parents who take their young children to the textile-free sauna, even though there is a 16+ mark and a textile-free zone icon on the door: Parents with children, please don't do this. It's embarrassing and upsetting. The breakfast was excellent, you can easily create yourself a nutritious and tasty meal. The room had everything necessary for a comfortable stay. The location is not bad — it is in a new and fashionable business district. A tram stop is a few minutes walk away, and the center is not so far away. We usually walked for the sake of walking.

Czech RepublicOnly negative thing(not hotel related) Fact that we booked large room for 2 adults and 1 child(8 years old) and that we were informed that we can sleep all in one bed or for additional cost can have a extra bed for our daughter. This seems to be some new trend with Booking so be carefull when booking any hotel via Booking. This is not communicated properly.
Mercure Hotel was absolutely amazing. Rooms were spacious, clean and completely new. Kids friendly, great staff.

United KingdomThe shower was great, but extremely slippery! Would ask for a bath next time. The person who greeted us- Bartek or Bartosz- had clearly not best day. Quite rude, which wasn’t nice to start our stay. However the men checking us out next day made it up, and ladies from restaurant lovely as well. As well , usually when we book a room and description says“your child stays for free” always there’s a sofa bed or small bed provided. Here we had to pay just over £20 for additional bed for our daughter (9yo). She could stay for free but sleeping with us…? I have messaged hotel before arriving to find out if we will have to pay for additional bed for our daughter, but not clear answer yes or no. Lady answered- there’s additional charges for the bed but she didn’t say- yes you will have to pay for the bed for your daughter. Found it a bit confusing. Also, no spinning machine outside the swimming pool, so you carry dripping swimwear. And stuff at the pool reception - no communication with customer, they just give you towels and don’t explain how the lockers or dryers work ( different hotels have different systems ). Location is not the best for all attractions, however bolt or Uber will take you to old square for £3-4 .
This hotel is just amazing! The room was huge and bed very comfortable. Bathroom with grand shower. The breakfast was incredibly good! So much to choose from! Great choice of fruit, pastries, cold meats, veggies and cooked foods too. Restaurant again so delicious! Fantastic swimming pool! Highly recommend!! Would come back.

AustraliaSee above - young staff in the restaurant who watched me struggling and the young man at reception.
The breakfast was great. The only problem was lack of help from the staff as I am in a wheelchair. On day 3 I got great help from the chef and one of the ladies helped me. The food was very good. The people at Reception could have been more helpful. One young man said he had ordered a taxi for me, but it was obvious that he had not - as an hour later he did it again and it came in4 minutes.

UkraineThe door in the bathroom in room 402 has a tanned side INSIDE, and outside everything is transparent. So when you are taking shower (which is not possible because there is only tube in the room) or doing other stuff - you see nothing through the door. But your family see everything you are doing in the moment 😂😂😂 I think it was made at factory by mistake. But hotel could change the door for sure.
Everything was great.
