Some of the listed amenities were not available. I could not rent a bicycle and the WiFi was only available in the main building, not where my room was.

Most of the staff spoke no English but were patient and very helpful. There was nothing to dislike about this quite basic but comfortable hotel.

Breakfast was very good. The staff were exceptionally helpful arranging to print out our plane reservations and telling us how to find the place to pay a parking fine! The restaurant was good: inexpensive and wholesome. The room was plain but comfortable in a dated way. The setting was lovely and I would certainly use the Bartosz again when visiting Zagan.

Two small things really. The restaurant was very brightly lit, it would me nice to be able to chill a bit more in the evening in cosier lighting. The sign from the road is ambiguous, it says 300m to the hotel, we thought that was 300m further along the main road, but it was from there 300m into the forest along a somewhat rough road - which I don't mind, it adds atmosphere. But we wasted 20 minutes working out where to go.

Excellent lakeside location in the forest, in walking distance of the Wolf's Lair site. It's a nice country house, well appointed, with a family run atmosphere. There is ample parking. The owner is very nice - a true traditional welcoming host who was always willing to help. The food was wholesome and homely, especially after a long day. The rooms had a slightly lived-in feel, which we didn't mind, they were clean enough, but a spruce up wouldn't go amiss in due course. Overall I liked staying there, I would definitely book again.

I don’t like twin rooms when I’m alone as why have two single beds when you can have a double. It’s quite basic but clean.

There’s really only this place to stay. Taxis are cheap to get to it but the walk is nice too. The staff are great.

The room has some ventilation issues so it would smell like humidity. I had to open my windows every time I wanted to take a shower to have some scape for the steam. Shower needed a deeper cleaning

Very helpful staff trying to make the stay easy and enjoyable. Even the language was a barrier for moments they make themselves understand and always with good disposition to help. The breakfast is ok, every morning I was offered to have fresh scrambled eggs. The restaurant is great with plenty of options.

Better variety for breakfast with hot food. Bar soap for the sink. I didn't like the Hydro-shut for the shower.

A budget hotel. Restaurant is not fine dining and opens between 1 pm to 8pm with virtually no customers during the period of our stay.

A central position for our needs whilst visiting the nearby Stalag prison camp of the great escape fame. There are a number of American servicemen staying here as it is close to the Polish army barracks who are serving with the NATO forces.

we booked a room with a balcony, when we arrived, it was heatwave, no air-conditioning, so opened the door to balcony, IT WAS A SHARED BALCONY WITH NEXT DOOR, we then saw next door walking past our open door, looking in, to take the SHARED table and two chairs. (we had 4 bedded room). We would have paid to have a fan in the exceptional heatwave. We obviously could not leave door open, as felt very venerable with a shared balcony, no division whatsoever. We have stayed at property before, and used for convenience, very expensive compared to similar hotels, and what they provided. Lift was only available with a member of staff.
