Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Germany- The windows do not provide the best sound insulation - noises coming from outside are easily heard. - There is no elevator.
+ The close proximity to the coach- and train station makes the hotel an ideal place to stay for ground travelers. + Two Zabka convenience stores and a McDonald's restaurant are right across the hotel. + Fair price

HungaryThe receptionist told me that breakfast is from 7am, but on the next day the other receptionist told me, that on weekend it is from 8am...one hour lost... The glass provided was wet and with fingerprints. The door is alsmost stucked, looks like the key is worn. The faucet is moving so need to hold until open the water.
Easy to reach the hotel, located next to a train station. Room is small but enough for 1person for 1 night.

United KingdomThere was a kettle, cup and spoon, but no tea or coffee. I procured the tea bag from the restaurant but then found there was no socket to plug the kettle in without unplugging the lamp on the bedside table. Quirky I think is how you would describe the hotel.
The restaurant had closed (20:10 - a bit early for a hotel?) but the staff suggested what the chef was still willing to cook and the Polish smoked sausage soup was excellent. The chicken escalope with accompanying salads was lovely too, although eating it on one long table with 40+ chairs when you're the only person there was somewhat surreal, especially after the waitress had switched the lights off and gone home at 21:00.

United KingdomDecor, bathroom.
Very basic “hotel”. It’s more of a hostel tbh. It seems clean, but decor is from 70’s and you just feel like running away from there ASAP. Beds aren’t as comfortable at all, wooden frames and a basic, old mattress. Reception staff very efficient at the check in and check out time.

United KingdomVery basic hotel with the decor from 70’s. No lift or a bar. Beds aren’t as comfortable and they are a small double size. No lift or a bar. Small car park at the front. Night porter might be busy at night so it can be tricky to get in.
Nice male receptionist on the check in and check out.

FinlandNo elevator, very high and uncomfortable stairs up to the highest 3rd floor, it is the whole story to get there -- do not recommend, it is totally inaccessible for aged people or people with moving issues. Old building after restoration. Absolutely impossible to use restaurant downstairs, no hot main dishes available, only green salad day and night. Personal of hotel (50%) and personal of restaurant (100%) does not speak English.
Comfort of beds, size of the room, cleanness of the room, kettle in the room.

PolandI resigned from other offer (canceled reservation) for 100 PLN/day and based on better location and first of all on presented pictures and high prices (aprox 170 PLN/day) promising better comfort made reservation in Sowa. Immediately after arriving to room, shoked with what I saw I asked reception for other rooms, After denial of change I send message with short list of remarks (original wqs in Polsih): * The mirror is cracked and not hanging on the wall - it is standing on the floor. * The window sills on the side of the room are damaged - the veneer is peeling away. * The floor is uneven, giving the impression that there are holes in it. * One of the two chairs is damaged - the seat will move. * No handle in one of the two bedside tables * Multiple stains in the carpet. * Places of damage to the skirting board. * Numerous unsightly screw holes in the front door - why not blinded? Only after this man at reception offered showed me two other rooms not that damaged, but much smaller. I stayed at original room, but request lowering price, as a resonable solution, because main concern here was quality/price factor (not mentioning nice pictures on page related to shocking reality). man at reception told me we will return to this topic later, as this is not His decission. When leaving hotel there was another man at reception, and this man was really unpleasent and upleasent, and told me that Sowa believes everything is OK and any lowering price is not justified. I left request on Booking message sytstem, agter 1 month no response, so I have to leave this warining for You: Avoid Sowa hotel.
