Felt unsafe outside. Could not go for walks. Junkies/homeless people sitting in front. Do not rent room 1, right in front and can hear everything outside and people coming up/down stairs.

Place? Excellent. Room? Good. bathroom? Great. Any issues? Taken cared of within 24hrs.

They seemed to have problems with the basics. There were 2 bath towels, one hand towel and no wash cloths. There was no bathmat and the tile floor was very slippery when wet. The body wash dispenser was empty and not attached to the wall. (There was no other soap except liquid hand soap that was in a dispenser attached to the wall near the sink). There was a half a roll of toilet paper and no spare. This was a 4 story walk-up, not a problem except that the stairs were quite steep. Most of these could easily have been addressed if there were any on-site staff. I would not have booked this property had I known in advance that it was a no-contact property.

The room and the public areas were beautifully decorated and the shower was great. The area around the hotel seemed a little sketchy at first, but there were a lot of nice things about it. We discovered couple of nice cafes and an area where the buildings were all painted with murals. We did enjoy our stay.

Well I had the only room with a shower, the rest had to share a bathroom and in my bathroom we had no water pressure! So we couldn’t fully shower and the location doesn’t allow for you to have a rental car because legit no parking. Also so many door locks and no one physically there to help you when one of them doesn’t work !

This property do not have reception or staff in the location. Upon my arrival I did not received any message with instructions on what is my room, the wifi passwords, access codes to hotel and the room, needed to call on the phone provided via email in case of emergency and wait on the line for 30 min. Property advertise on booking that you can pay once you are in hotel, this is a lie, I was charged from the card I provided for pre authorization, on the day before check in without even have the opportunity to talk to anyone. Bed blankets were smelling like a cats piss on it day in and day out, needed to take it to balcony to get read of the stench in the room. The worst part is that representatives in Booking.com suggested me this property as my originally reserved hotel had piping issue. Well done Booking.com!

There is ZERO sound control - we heard so much sound carrying from outside literally all night and it was very obnoxious. Not to mention it's in a really sketchy area - so sketchy that my husband and I actually left after the first night and despite their policy on only charging the first night for a cancellation, they refused us any kind of refund at all. We paid for three nights even though we only stayed for one because we felt so uncomfortable with the area.

The room was almost the size of the bathroom which is disappointing since it looked bigger on the picture. There was also a huge roach in my room which scared me and I wasn’t able to put any of my stuff on the ground. There was also no furniture, which I knew, but it would’ve been nice especially since there was a roach on the ground. Would’ve been nice to have somewhere to put my bags other than on my bed.

The bathroom was beautiful and a very nice size. Also loved how it was a separate tub, shower and then a detachable shower head. I like the security of the hotel and the hotel door.

The stairwell was too narrow, and it would have been nice if there was at least a ramp where I can wheel my suitcase up and down the stairs, so, that was a bit challenging to get up and down. And getting the door open after punching in the code, the instructions could have been a little more specific in terms of getting the door open, like, I had to pull the door to the left then push, in order for it to open.

I loved the self-check in with all the codes, the outdoor bathroom, nice, the room was clean, cozy and nice. As a solo traveler, as a solo female traveler I felt really safe and secured while there. I felt sooooo relaxed, I was only sorry it was only for one night, but I definitely would be back another time.

Where do I begin, firstly this property is self service check in and out they text you a code to enter the building and your room, the rooms look nothing like the pictures the room was the size of a box literally I had to climb in the corner to even fit in the bed, the neighborhood was completely unsafe we heard countless numbers of gunshots throughout the night we barely slept because it was just unsafe not to mention the bed is so small it’s not enough room for 2 people. the next morning we called Uber to the airport and when he saw the neighborhood he rode right pass us. our flight was cancelled and we needed something for the night that’s how we ended up here out of desperation definitely won’t stay here ever again!!!

The only thing that could be improved are the services offered on the TV in the room. Still, everything else was great including the A/C and the check-in system.

Something that surprised us about the room was the bathroom, super spacious, comfortable and ideal for the room. Also, the cleanliness of the room was something that caught our attention. The overall experience at La Calma was very good.
