The personal and warm welcome from Kate when we arrived was very special. She made us feel very very welcome and was so friendly. We didn’t need her for anything since we were well taken care of, but knew if we needed any help she would be there for us to help.

Even before arriving they reached out and assisted us in organizing transportation from the airport as well providing several guides on where to visit. Once we arrived we were welcomed and shown around the excellent facilities. Then we saw the room and absolutely loved it!

If you don’t plan to stay out till 2/3 AM a salsa club is across the street and plays bass heavy music till about 330AM on Fridays and Saturdays. Was very tough to sleep through even with white noise and ear plugs. This place is perfect Su-Th.

Very beautiful place to stay. Great host, loved the cute breakfast, good local recommendations. Easy to park and easy to get anywhere on the island. Would 100% stay again.

The room was exactly as pictured, but more beautiful in person. the bathroom area was all separated so it was very comfortable for two people. Breakfast was perfect, it was served in a picnic basket, so you could take it with you to bed or any table, or even the beach across the street. Bed was comfy, good AC, great service.

Slight issue with the water pressure in the shower. Wasn't sure whether it was island-specific, though.

Puertas felt like a home away from home. Kate was absolutely delightful – so friendly and helpful. We were right across the street from parking, snorkel rentals and tours (DO THE BIO BAY!), and a small stretch of beach. And while there's not a ton going on for nightlife or restaurants in Vieques during shoulder season, we were very close to what was there! LOVED the breakfast basket and enjoying it on the patio. The restaurant, which opened for the season on the first day we arrived, was absolutely excellent – we had our anniversary dinner there and it delivered 100%. I also want to sleep in that bed every night for the rest of my life. I will highly recommend Puertas to anyone visiting Vieques!

The place can be noisy at night due to the night life happening on the beach. earplugs were divided though. The breakfast was good but a bit light / simple. Check-out is at 11 and at 10:59 the cleaning lady was my door. I received a text at 11:07 asking me if I was ready (politely). I understand the policy but perhaps a bit more flexibility / more subtlety would have been good. Like, say check-out is at 11 promptly (as they do) but only except to start cleaning at 11:30… The restaurant was closed, which I only found out when arriving. There is.a good option nearbye for dinner but would have liked to know before booking. Overall and in light of the above I think the price could be a bit cheaper.

I received a warm welcome and lots of instructions from the staff. Communication, including for taxi arrangements were super smooth. The room was very nicely decorated, clean and comfy. I never had a breakfast served in a picnic basket by my window so that was a good plus. I loved the big hamac on the terrace to chill. The beach towels and chairs provided were very welcome. The entrance is secure with a code / lock on the door. The local e-guide was very useful and well designed.

The host was amazing, she made our stay extremely comfortable, she also helped make tack reservations with us. The property is extremely cute and comfortable, very instagrammable. They serve breakfast in a very cute picnic basket.

Breakfast was delivered in darling picnic baskets. The room was beautiful, with classic tiles and a gorgeous shower. Service was prompt. The hotel provided beach towels and chairs. Hotel is walking distance from restaurants and a little convenience store.

The staff were very nice, but we felt very pressured to time everything when on vacation rather than go with the flow. The staff also leave in the afternoon for the night so if we had questions we couldn’t get help. The wifi is also very spotty.

Laura was a delight. I would have liked to interacted with her more. My first interaction with staff at check in left me with a sour taste so I decided to try again to have conversation with her the following morning. Worse. I'm traveling alone so friendly people make all the difference! Kate, the owner was also delightful. I spoke with her on the phone before I arrived in Vieques.

The breakfast was nicely done, healthy and well presented. Liked the private area in front of my room though didn't get to use it much because of the heavy rains.

It was a total surprise to me that no children are allowed “through the gate”, as the owner said, because it “violates her insurance policy”. This means there is no temp visit to us is allowed if there is a child, even if he/she is not going to stay. This is not clearly stated in their policy. Before 8:00 am in the morning we checked out, I received a message from booking.com saying that the owner alleged that I took away the key and thus I needed to pay for that. Our checkout time was not due yet at that moment, and my wife was still in the hotel at that point. This was really crazy!
