How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Well If you like your room set to Arctic this is the place for you. It has central air for all rooms on ONE setting no adjustments. I had to sleep in a beanie, sweat pants, socks and my bathrobe which thank god I brought there is NO way to adjust the temperature .. it is FREEEZING .... I got sick after the 1st night there .. they gave me a 2nd blanket.. Let's see toilet over flowed I guess u can't flush toilet paper but no one told us nor are there sigs ... It took a bit to get new towels ( torn, shredded ) to replace the ones we had to clan the bathroom floor with the lady was nice but def wanted swapsies ... so we had to bring dirty dripping towels to the desk to get new one... TV didn't work 90% of the time signal lost .. Oh and don't let me forget the gentleman who I asked to call a cab for him to tell me I had no idea where I was going as " he lives there and I do not " .. guess what I was correct .. I knew where I needed to go .. and .. Oh.. I don't live there ... Never again .... the young man at night was super nice.... the hotel itself needs to just be redine and brought up to date... with individual temperature controls I am still sick

Roof must have a leak because we could see water dripping into the room when it rained. It also pooled under the paint.

AC is central and it was too cold the entire time. I had to purchase warm clothing. There was no window so I couldn't let the cold air out.
Superb location. Walking distance to a lot of shopping, dining and activities.

Thinness of the walls and doors. Could absolutely hear everything going on in the rooms all around us. Was unable to sleep. Sheets, Pillows were not comfortable at all

When we got to the room the A/C was not working and never got fixed. So, we decided to leave. Not the best experience.

Desk clerk, early check in message was a lie, no breakfast, no ice, no phone, no clock, no bathroom floor mat, TV didn’t work, paper thin door and walls. Kept awake all night by baby crying and people talking outside our door. Room was super cold, had to sleep with clothes on. Hard to get a receipt at checkout. Desk clerk had the personality of Captain Hook. I have used Choice Hotels all across the USA and have extremely pleased. A friend told me to try Booking.Com I will never use Booking.Com again and neither will my friends and family. This hotel should be removed from you website.

There are no windows so no ventilation..no parking..the rooms have a smell that I could not bare..they are very small you can hear your neighbor next room very clear...I had to go and cancel my stay and stay somewhere else...sorry!
Well ti be honest, I liked that it was centered in the heart of old sj and you don't have to have a car to go to so many places in sj...

Central air was inconsistent in temperature, but it was not a deal breaker for me
Great value in a prime location. Staff was phenomenal. The bed was super comfortable. The shower was great. I will make this hotel my go to every time I visit San Juan.

Veronica the manager at SJ suites helped us with directions and made check in easy! The room was clean and the bed was comfortable! The location is in walking distance of everything!

The room didn't have a window. Didn't have a microwave or coffee machine. Didn't have a chair nor table/desk and the size of the room was not at all what the booking said, was really small. The TV had almost no channels available to view and the water didn't come hot until the last day. Will not stay here again.
