Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

UkraineIf you live on the second floor you can hear everything from the neighbors above you - the floor is very creaky. Also, we had issues with the shower leaking on the floor in the bathroom. Since the room is really tiny, there can be not enough space for all the luggage you might have.
This hotel is like a fairy tale! We really enjoyed your 4 days stay there. The room is tiny but has everything you need for a perfect stay. The staff is super kind and friendly - they do their best and more to make your stay there very comfortable! We enjoyed having dinner with a sunset view on the terrace. And also liked swimming in the pool. The hotel has just 9 rooms so don't expect too many people there - there is enough space for everyone. For the breakfast you actually can order everything you want - they will cook it for you! It is also supported by the variety of fruits. pastry and cheese selection.

FranceOur experience at Zino’s has been delightful on every aspect. The location is beautiful and poetic, the rooms are perfectly clean, comfy, and charmful, while being completely equipped. We spent the afternoon at the pool, with a view on the sea and mountains, where we drunk delicious cocktails, served by a lovely staff. The dinner was truly one of our best culinary experiences on the island, and the breakfast was both generous and tasty. Overall, even though we only spent one night at Zino’s, we had a dreamy, wonderfully relaxing time there and hope to be back someday.

NetherlandsThe road to the hotel is very narrow and quite busy, wich can make it sometimes hard to park your car, but they have more parking spaces down the road if needed.
The hotel itself is a very charming place. It has the looks of an old palace and you have a very nice view of the coast. The breakfast was amazing and we were treated very good. One of the best hotel experiences we have had in quite a while

United KingdomWe loved everything about our stay. The staff went above and beyond: from the reception staff helping us to deal with difficult taxi drivers and arranging day trips, to the restaurant staff who couldn’t do enough to help us, and the chef who made the most delicious food, and all were people you would want to chat to and see again. We are sad to be leaving such a beautiful hotel and will definitely be coming again. The hotel has spectacular views and is in a quiet bay so lovely for romantic evenings at the outdoor restaurant. The pool seems very private and was never too busy. The hotel is also a 20/25 minute car journey to Funchal. We can’t recommend this place enough.

AustriaThis little pink hotel castle is something really special and unique, located on the top it offers amazing views, surrounded by green banana terraces. The staff was very friendly and helpful, professional and welcoming. I had the best breakfasts on my trip and Poncha cocktail :) I was upgraded and received a nice room with a great view of the ocean. It has a pool, a great restaurant and amazing people working there. Many thanks for everything and for hosting me that well! Totally recommended.

IrelandWe mostly didn't like 2 things: 1. There is no official public beach nearby as advertised, and the dirt from the village comes through a little river into the ocean. Lugar de Baixo Beach doesn't look like a properly arranged beach. The other nearby beaches are also not great (stones) and the only really beautiful sandy beach was 45 min drive by car in Seixal, or the private beaches of hotels in Funchal. 2. The room was incredibly small. Also, the shower was leaking a bit into the room. Other than that, the ladies at the reception were unfriendly unfortunately. The sunbeds at the pool are old and deformed, and just by changing the sunbeds, the beautiful courtyard would have been an inviting place to chill for a day. When we shared the above issues and asked to leave 1 day earlier and be refunded (as we were tired of driving to the beach 45 min one way every day and the very tiny room), they asked us to send them an email to the "superiors" and only got back to use the following day when we pushed in person for an answer, saying that they won't be able to let us go earlier.
Very friendly staff in the restaurant and delicious food. Beautiful facade of the building and reception area.

Romania1. The rooms we stayed, “Classic double” and “Superior double”, were tiny. Both are described on booking as having 20m2, in reality “superior double” was 12m2 max, the other even smaller. 2. On booking it is mentioned that the property is 200 m from the beach, in reality the main road to the property, quite steep even for a car, is 500 m distance, and …there is no proper beach. There is access to ocean and in case you just want to sit by seaside on rocks you can (but not swim), moreover, there is quite busy road nearby, so overall one need to travel 15-40 min by car to a proper beach to be able to swim. 3. The property has nice area around the pool (which is quite small, but nice). BUT the sun beds are uncomfortable, so you actually can’t stay long in case you decide to spend a day resting in the hotel. So, overall, we stayed in three different places in Madeira but this one was the least pleasant, unfortunately.
The building itself is nice, so in case you want some nice pictures, then come here. The staff at the restaurant was very pleasant. Food was also good, though choice at the breakfast was a bit limited.

LuxembourgVery small double room that felt claustrophobic, impossible to open two suitcases at the same time, not worthy of a four star. Bathroom floods when you're having a shower. No black-out curtains. Seaview only if you stick your head out the window and turn 90 degrees. At 429 euros for 2 nights, didn't feel like particularly good value in comparison to wonderful 5 star quinta in Funchal at the same price. Madeira being a walkers' paradise, most hotels offer a packed lunch at additional cost which is fair. The one provided by 1905 Zinos Palace was the most basic one we've seen so far and it was obvious that very little care or effort went into it: basic ham and cheese sandwich (no butter, no salad), two bananas, bottle of water. In their defence, at 5 euros it was cheap, but my recommendation would be to charge twice the price and increase the quality. A proper downer to open the bag half way through a 16km walk.
Very friendly staff with fine sense of humour (bartender who checked us in in the evening) , good breakfast, nice building with pretty terrace and view. Lovely decor. Practical parking. Nice little hand-written notes with info.

IrelandUnderwhelming and over priced. My stay was underwhelming. Not worth what I paid for the room. It was a 3 star hotel charging a 5 star price. There was so hot food available, only sandwiches and snack due to there being no chef in the hotel for th past 3 months.
I liked that the hotel has a boutique feel and had a good view. The staff were welcoming and nice.
