Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SlovakiaI had to wait for warmer water for over 5 minutes which I consider a waste. Also the shower would need fixing, a new head perhaps. There is a very annoying dog barking in the evening from neighbours, I know that the host has nothing to do with that but some people just like quiet.
It's a home-like accommodation. Very clean, bed was comfy for me, nice views, breakfast are good, you can also keep your stuff in the common fridge. It's near Monte, but you still have to walk.

TaiwanWhat a lovely hotel! I had a wonderful memory! I really enjoyed my stay at Casa do Caseiro. It's a lovely place, vintage and clean room, and nice staff. Stephania, the host of the hotel, is very nice and very friendly. She's one of the reasons why this place is so good! The hotel is in the mountain area, it's not very convenient if you don't drive a car. But bus 19, 26 and 27 can reach. Because it's in the mountain, so from the garden (where breakfast is served), there's nice view! One day during the stay, Stephania invited to join a mountain walk. I was so glad to join such a special intensive walking organized by the local. The walk, I have to say it's quite challenging and adventurous, but the view on the way was stunning and amazing. We hiked above the clouds! It's a memorable moment. I am definitely going to go back to Madeira, and stay here again! (Already started looking at the flight tickets🤭🤭)

NetherlandsIt's a bit from the centre of Funchal and high up a mountain. I didn't have a car and was depending on the bus or a taxi. It worked fine though.
I really enjoyed the authentic feel of the place and the cute garden full of plants, a pool and an amazing view. The room was very clean and felt like a little home. Stephania, who runs the casa was also very kind and personal.

United KingdomThe biggest minus of that place is definitely location. Is close to Monte Palace but a bit far from town centre and you need to climb up the hill, it's not a problem when you have a car but might be problematic on foot.
Beautiful place, has swimming pool and a nice view from terrace, wasn't very crowded during our stay so was also quiet. Nights in March are still a bit cold but my room had a heating which was very helpful, room was cleaned every day. The staff is nice and caring. The breakfast is very nice, every day we had something different.

PolandThe only thing that could be better are breakfasts. The portions are small and the choice is not enough. It would be way better it there is buffet instead of everyone having their own portion at their plate.
charming guest house led by lovely owner. Location is good if you have a car, the property is high at the hill next to the main road so quite comfortable as a starting place for all the trips but too far from the city center to walk there (considering very steep hill). The atmosphere is very friendly, Stephania is super nice person.

Cypruswithout a car, be prepared to walk a lot uphill and downhill to the bus stops the water takes really long until it gets warm in the shower (waste of water, not sustainable, nature is crying)

CyprusIt is placed quite uphill, and returning by foot could be quite a challenge, we had to take a local bus - but the bus stop is close! So that was not really a problem :)

United KingdomQuite far from town and up a very steep hill!
Lovely location, quiet, peaceful and my balcony had a fine view out to Funchal bay. There was also a pool and sunbathing area and a small communal kitchen with fridge. Rooms were spotless and well maintained & the staff went all out to make sure I was well catered for.

Germanythe noise from outside has grown ( highway underneath ) .
It is a real nice Casa with a beautiful garden. And again ( I have been there before) the care taking lady Stefania : " It´s nothing that cannot be solved ". She introduces the guests and the nations that meet in this 7 guest room Villa ( most of them with balcony ) . So you meet wonderful people if you like. The breakfast outside is the best start into each beautiful day. 2 bus lines are nearby. ( 27 and 19 ) The kitchen is open with a fridge and more. Nice pool area also.

SlovakiaThe only con is the motorway down the road. So you can hear it in the backround a little bit. But it it is given and has nothing to do with the quality of this facility, the location generally is great.
Location, view, nice flora all around you, great backyard with garden, where you are having breakfast, self-service bar, pool with sunbeds, a lot of places for relax. Plus was a balcony and the character of old village manor. The place has a decent charisma. Stefania is a great host, she is very nice and has a nice word for everybody, everytime. And in many languages.
