How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Room too crammed with many stools, side tables and 2 sofas and yet not a single drawer where to put your underwear or anything else.

Can't get to the hotel with a car. Nearest parking lot was fully booked. Don't come with a car!! The room we got was very small. You must be very thin in order to reach your side of the bed.
Breakfast was great, location is very good. Staff was very helpfull.

Our bedroom was very small, I bumped into the TV when I walked around the bed and you couldn't fit two people in the bath room at the same time. We are not overweight! Not enough space for unpacking/clothes etc. Shame we couldn't eat breakfast outside, the breakfast area was a bit small

Great location for Lisbon, the hotel was very quiet at night. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Very clean and everything is new in the hotel. If you rent a car, park in the underground parking right nearby, just a quick walk up the steps to the hotel. Quite a few restaurants nearby as well.

The location of the hotel is great and we got the a great view to the river. Room was clean and had all the equiment that we needed. The hotel has a great breakfast (not a lot variety, but enough). Despite the fact we came late (because of missing connecting flight), the room waited for us. Fast in respone to any issue. I would recomend to my family and friends to stay in this hotel!

Breakfast is eaten in the bar, which is quite small, and the rooms, though well appointed, are also quite small - though very comfortable. On this account it is probably worth paying the bit extra for a slightly larger superior deluxe room.
This is a delightful small hotel in an excellent location. The staff could not have been more helpful. The rooms are very well appointed. Very good breakfast.

No tea or coffee facilities in the room, you could go to reception where there is a coffee machine and you can help yourself but prefer in the room.
Very clean, perfect location and lovely welcoming staff. Water always available in the room. Most comfortable bed I have stayed in. Best pillows ever! A lovely small boutique hotel with lovely details. Great hand-soaps and lotions, shampoo and conditioner, attention to detail for the nicer things.

Brilliant location, beautiful interior design and a really lovely ambience. The staff were very friendly with excellent customer service. They even left a little goodbye gift of hand cream which is a lovely touch. Would absolutely recommend!

Everything was perfect. The room was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. The staff was very friendly and hospitable, the receptionist gave us detailed information for the main attractions and also booked a table for us at a great fado restaurant. The location was very central just a few minutes from plaça commercio. All in all it is utterly recommended!
