Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Clean and comfortable, nicley furnished with a good view. Good air conditioning. Supermarket, restaurants and subway station nearby. The kitchen was well equipped and the place seamed newly renovated. Good beds and well functioning appliances, dishwasher and washing machine.

Italyapartment was not very clean, and there were no kitchen towels or soap for the dishwasher (no need for big quantity but at least leave or or two tablets for stay would be nice). I would suggest also to put some perfume in the toilet. one of the room need also a proper closet.

KosovoRequirement to put security deposit created unnecesary load because you have to dedicate money to deposit instead using them for spending :). Moreover for a visitor there is no ensurance that those money will be returned, it is based on trust.
Apartement had 3 double bads and 3 bathrooms which is quite good for group of people in same apartement.

Netherlands- We didn’t feel like it was clean at the apartment - some dishes were dirty and cups had lipstick leftovers, bed sheets had stains, some furniture felt sticky. - The deposit of 450 euros is not a service-oriented approach. It’s annoying to withdraw and carry so much cash with you in the days when we barely use any cash at these days. - The host comes to bring and pick up the keys (and handle the deposit) upon checkin and checkout. But if checkout is before 8 or 9am, they ask for additional 30 euros. Again, not a service-oriented approach. Luckily, the host was flexible for us and came to inspect the house and handed over cash the day before. - we were asked to pay city taxes for our small children which are exempted. So always check if the amount they request is correct. - Mainly ikea stuff in the house, bench in the hall isn’t stable to sit on, some chairs in the living room seem to be broken.
- Quiet neighborhood (no bars around, could sleep well) - Great coffee place around the corner. - Host was friendly, responsive, flexible and open to find a solution to some customer-unfriendly rules. There was no baby crib in the room, while we requested for it. She quickly arranged it for us.

SerbiaWhole building smells like mold covered in fresh paint. Apartment itself also has a strange smell - it doesn't have good isolation and you can hear noice from the street. We thought that there is an air condition based on the listed things in the apartment but that was a lie. Also, note that shower is leaking because it was poorly built.
Location was good and the bathroom was nice.

United Kingdomthe €450 deposit is SUPER inconvenient, especially for people travelling to/from countries which do not use EUR currency. Now, I am stuck with Euros collecting dust until my next trip into eurozone... the floors and walls are super thin, you could hear every step from upstairs The rooms and beds are nice and comfortable, but they very weirdly laid out... with no/very little window & natural light in them all & also, the doors do not close properly in any of them
The place was nice, good quality stuff, especially the bathrooms, kitchen, balcony, all huge pluses! Owners were very responsive whenever there was an issue

Spain- You have to pay 450€ deposit even for one night - The address was the one for the central apartments and we had to take a taxi to the new address - The staff was 0 flexible for the check out and they started cleaning while we were finishing (we left 10 minutes later than the check out time) - I didn’t have the feeling of a clean apartment I would not recommend this Airbnb

DenmarkThe pictures describing the apartment are long outdated and do not correspond to the current condition. The apartment is old, with old furniture (don't correspond to the pictures, and it's all heavily used, the TV is an old 10" "flat-screen", the plastic chairs are cracked, the wifi is from the apartment next door, etc.) and in desperate need of renovation. We have complained and asked to leave, and the owner offered us the larger apartment, which we have taken for the rest of the week and was in much better condition. This is a low-cost apartment being rented at a much higher price than it should, with misleading pictures. I was also disappointed at the response from Booking.com, which only wrote to the owner and told me I should find a solution directly with him. Will not rent apartments with Booking.com again.
The property manager, Cristina, was always helpful trying to overcome the problems with the apartment and the location was pleasant and convenient.
