We had everything we needed to have a pleasant holiday. So beautiful bouganville balcony and garden with a lounge, pool and sea-view. Very nice hosts that were so friendly and helpful.

If I had to be nitpicky it would be that some of the lights make a light zoom noise when they are turned off, which makes it more difficult to sleep for some people.

Ian is a great guy and very welcoming. Thanks again for the meal 😁 The location is very close to the Funchal city center. The room is spacious and there are enough places to hang out indoors or outside. My room had a huge kitchen with everything I needed.

I liked everything 🤗 Great views, pool, super friendly helpful owner. And one of few places offering a good price as a single traveller. Nice peaceful garden with loungers etc. Honestly just blown away what a gem it was Walk down into the centre takes 20 mins and a bit longer back up. As a keen walker that's fine but may not suit everyone. But there are buses or taxis as required. If you have a car there is free parking across main road in a side street about 50-100m away. Very handy.

Everything was perfect.

The apartment was spacious and well-equipped with a beautiful garden to sit in with amazing views of Funchal and the sea. Ian, the owner, was incredibly helpful and friendly providing us with valuable information and offering a pick up and drop off service for the airport. A great place to stay with a local bus service into Funchal.

Ian is a very hospitable and friendly person. He advises you on the many sights that can be visited in Funchal and Madeira. The accommodation where we stayed (app. 2) consisted of a spacious, classically furnished and garden-oriented apartment on the ground floor.

We first stayed at Vista Oceano with Ian and Ceu over twenty years ago and are still staying with them when we visit Madeira – that says it all. Lovely spacious, clean, comfortable, south facing apartment overlooking a beautiful, flower filled garden and the sea. Super friendly and helpful hosts.

I liked everything here. The apartment was big and clean and nicely decorated. The balcony was big and had good views. The garden was beautiful and the host was very attentive and kind. I can warmly rcommend and would love to stay here again in the future.

Ian and his wife were adorable and attentive throughout my stay. The rooms are spacious and clean, with a kitchenette and a lounge, which is both a luxury and very practical! The garden is beautiful and well-kept, with a bar area, a lovely swimming pool, and above all an incredible view over the bay of Funchal! I would recommend this guest house 1000% and would like to thank Ian again for his warm welcome.

The walk into Funchal marina isn’t long but a bit steep. It’s very doable and worth it for staying here!

We had an amazing stay at Vista Oceano! Ian and Ciel were very accommodating and friendly and made us feel like we were part of the family. They went above and beyond what we expected from our stay. They gave us advice on when we should do certain hikes and checked the weather for us. They also helped us with our travel to the airport. The apartments were very clean. The pool and garden were very relaxing and we had absolutely no problems or issues.

Amazing view from the balcony. Well equipped apartman where you will have everything you need. room was even cleaned 2 times / week. Parking is easy in front of the house. Ian is a very friendly host. I hope we will go back in the near future.
