Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsOnly possible improvements would be outlets and a reading light near every bed and shower gel in the bathrooms. Those are very minor inconveniences thought, this is a very good place to stay!
Very nice staff, very clean beds and bathrooms (and plenty of bathrooms too!), great atmosphere all around. The breakfast is a really good option, worth the extra charge.

United KingdomIt’s being picky, but somewhere to hang up towels!
We stayed in a private room with en suite bathroom. It was small but modern and clean and well appointed. Loved the communal area, the bar and the food. Chatting to other guests and the staff over pizza and local wine was a real treat.

EstoniaThe beds badly need a little shelf near the sockets so people can rest their phones while charging. And for small toiletries and personal items.
The staff was helpful and friendly, the bathrooms modern and clean. As well as the residential hallways. The ancient two door elevator was a nice bonus.

My 1st ever stay in a hostel and it was a success! Great location close to center and public transport, well designed property. Very friendly and helpful staff. I met a lot of fun people staying at the hostel and made new friends.

South AfricaWe opted for the shared bathrooms and for 2nights that we were there, there was no hot shower and no lights in most of the bathroom on the 4th floor. It was highly inconvenient but we raised it with the Hostel and they were very kind to make a plan and refund us. The service was great! Regarding the room itself - the walls are paper thin and even if the hotel is in your quieter area of Lisbon, the noise from cars on the road was not very pleasant, and we could hear everything from the rooms next door. The hostel reception area was somewhat cosy but the room were not as cosy but was big enough for 2 people. They also did not have any activities as a hostel. So don't expect to meet many people and have a lisbon hostel vibe. It was more of a one star hotel vibe.
It was perfect location as we stayed at the hostel around one of the busiest nights jn Lisbon. There was the Lisbon parade on the 12th June and it was very convenient to just walk across the road back to the hostel. The metro and bus station was also close by and it was easy to get to the airport. This said, if it wasn't for the night of the parade, I wouldn't have stayed in the area as it is less happening as compared to the other parts of Lisbon. Regarding the hotel itself, it was value for money. They have pizzas for dinner (extra costs) but it is sooooooo good!!! Highly recommend. The room and bed was okay. I also like that it had an elevator for the luggage.

United KingdomRooms got very hot and only a fan in the room. Even when windows were open they kept on shutting and opening due to the fan and the noise outside was very loud.
Really clean and modern. The facilities were really good and easy access to both the metro and the main road down into Lisbon centre. Bathrooms were always clean and available.

New ZealandThe kitchen was really poorly equipped - I had my breakfast out of a pot every morning cos there were no bowls. Fridge is tiny and super packed. The staff always seemed really bored and were always on their phones. It's also a pretty antisocial vibe there even with the bar downstairs.
The bathrooms were really good!! Lots of individual bathrooms each with a shower and toilet, and pretty spacious too. The pizzas are good too.

NetherlandsThe room has no AC but a ceiling fan which does its purpose but it is massive and situated directly over the bed. As it was very warm during our stay we had to have it on otherwise it would be too warm to sleep. After the first night sleeping with the fan on, my boyfriend and I both woke up with sore throats.
Location was simply amazing. We booked an en-suite double room which was very clean and comfortable. The staff was super friendly and attentive. You can grab some free coffee in the lobby :)

United Kingdomexcellent location- 2 minutes walk from a metro station and a 15/20 minute walk into the centre of Lisbon. I stayed in a double room with shared ensuite and all facilities were excellent- the room was huge and had a nice window/seating area where I could read. The pizza served there was also fab!

United KingdomRoom *really* could do with aircon. It has a ceiling fan that helps a little, but we had to have the window open at night which was quite loud due to being on a busy road with lots of emergency vehicles (hostel is near a hospital). Also just a note to say that this hostel does not seem to really have a chatty vibe, the downstairs/entry area is usually quite quiet and was just a passing through place mostly.
We had a private room with balcony and it was gorgeous! Looked really like a boutique hotel but for a fraction of the price! Individual bathrooms on our floor - there were 4 and all well cleaned. The hostel Pizza was amazing too, as was the free coffee :)
