Breakfast was a bit bland and coffee was really not tasting like real coffee (we kept stopping on the way to have some coffee after each breakfast)

The hotel was pretty new with nice rooms with big terraces overlooking the ocean. Indoor SPA was nice and empty. Outside pool and natural one with waves from the ocean.

Bar plays music until 24:00, not loud, but it can be heard in the terrace and when windows are open. Depending on wind conditions smells from the restaurant are felt in the terrace.

Big apartment and private terrace. Good restaurant. 3 swimming pools.

The staff was great, great facilities and a really good room with sea views. The restaurant served really good food and was not expensive.

Sauna wasn’t working, cleaning could be done little bit better but overall it was quite clean. Air conditioner wasn’t working in our room and also nobody came to fix, but again it wasn’t a big issue because temperature wasn’t too warm.

New Hotel, with very friendly staff, good kitchen a big parking space and very beautiful spot. In general you have everything what you need. Our room was very spacious, bright. it has a fully equipped kitchen. You can use it if you want. It is two outdoor pools, one inside pool with “bubbling” place. There’s sauna, but at our stay wasn’t working. Nobody came to fix 🥲

Nice location by the ocean with a magnificant view from the room. Most comfortable bed. Parking in front of the reception. Good resataurant in the hotel building. Excellent cooking.

The big mountain behind is so high that this fantastic hotel is in the shade half of the year .

Hotel in a quiet place in front of the ocean . Perfect stay to rest and enjoy the environment. Rooms are clean and spacious. Staff is really kind, professional and very helpful. Restaurants is delicious. A pure pleasure at all points and highly recommended.

Clean and nice room with beautiful view on the Ocean. The bed was comfortable and air conditioning was quiet and working well. Both pools (inside and outside are great), and there is also sauna. The staff is really friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was simple but tasty with plenty to choose from. I definately recommend checking the hotel restaurant for dinner as it was the best Maderian food on our holiday, and the serving was huge! Overall it was best hotel of our trip (and we stayed in 4 different ones).

We were disappointed in the breakfast at Hotel Calamar, very standard motel breakfast. I would add at least some oatmeal and different nuts/seeds/dried fruit for a basic muesli. Also would be important to add non-dairy milk for those who are lactose intolerant or vegan. Also the only downside in our room was we were right next to the dining area, so one of our bedroom windows overlooked the restaurant so we couldn't open it or leave the curtains open. But again, I would 100% stay here in the future just for the location right on the water and overall wonderful stay.

We had a great stay in Sao Vincente and Hotel Calamar... I mean the ocean rock pool at the hotel is enough for me to give it an excellent rating! The views from the hotel are just incredible and the pools seem very well maintained. They are the star of the hotel for sure. We loved our two bedroom room, it was super spacious for the four of us and the balcony was insane!! So huge and overlooked the pool area. We loved walking out there and taking in the views. We found the staff at Hotel Calamar to be very friendly and helpful, and the general area was nice to stay in for a couple days. I highly recommend checking out Porto Moniz while there and the Seixo black sand beach!

Indoor swimming pool/jacuzzi not heated

A hotel is located at the ocean, it has all the facilities available in one place - restaurant, snack bar, indoor/outdoor smimming pool etc. Rooms are equipped with a kettle and glasses. Very comfy beds.

Unfortunately, the bank terminal did not work for the entire stay. We tried credit and debit cards, both master card and visa, tried many time for a few consecutive day . This was the only place on the island for nearly 2 weeks our bank cards did not work. We had to go to a little town next to the hotel to withdraw some cash and the exchange rate was very poor (the pounds were cheaper than euros).

Nice views from the hotel, pretty good breakfast. The room was nice and clean, air con was amazing. We also liked the indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi.
