Only the smallest thing, the choice of poolside music in the afternoon is a bit off-putting.

One of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed. Great location right in the heart of the action but might be a bit loud peak season.

The breakfast it was good but a bit too pricey. I would have the spa open longer hours.

The place is great and all the staff is amazing especially the girl from the reception that received us. The spa is a great bonus to start the day and our room at the 8th floor had great views and wasn’t too noisy. I would definitely recommend and go again!

The location is great for not too busy season, but it is literally next to the main street with all the clubs and bars are located.

Our room was spacious, clean and very well appointed. The service and food at breakfast were exceptional. The location was very convenient to the beach, restaurants and nightlife. Reviews warned about tge noise but you could barely hear it…more like white noise. Great lifestyle hotel.

The spa is free but in the end it costs you 4 euros (you have to buy a swimming cap) so the information should be more clear.

- When we arrived the room smelled of cigarettes. The staff couldn’t change the room because only noisy ones were available and we specifically booked a quieter room. We figured out the smell was coming through ventilation so we just kept the window open and it aired out. - The hotel is located and facing the NOISIEST area in Albufeira. Even the quieter rooms with a pool view are subject to this noise. However, the window sound insulation is quite good, so with closed windows and earplugs you don’t hear anything. - Breakfast cost 17 euros and was not worth it (in our opinion) - fried eggs, beans, bacon, sausages, waffles (not the ones you make fresh from batter), some fruit, hams, cheese, buns, some fruit.

- The spa swimming pool and Turkish bath (which is included in the price of the room) was great, as we were here in the off season and the outdoor pool was a bit too cold. - Minimalist room design - The shower and toilet separated from the room with glass partitions. At first we were sceptical and viewed this as an inconvenience, but it was ok. It was especially nice to shower in the shower flooded with natural light. - Nice staff - Overall design of the hotel.

The Hotel California is in a great location in the Old Town of Albufeira. Walking distance to the beach, bars and restaurants. Lovely clean hotel and very nice rooftop pool with comfortable sunbeds. Recommend.

The bars around the hotel play loud music until 1:30 am making it almost impossible to sleep before this hour. Very frustrating!
