Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt was a shame we couldn’t eat an evening meal there . That would have made it perfect as it was such a kea evil setting and it was a shame to have to drive somewhere to eat . We would like to have stayed up the mountain and soaked up the atmosphere .
Breakfast was really good . Home produced food and so friendly . Ailsa was so helpful and told us lots about the history of the building . We enjoyed the homemade treats too .

United Kingdom.
Warm, friendly welcome and introduction to the house and facilities. The extras of free coffee, cake etc and an honesty bar were appreciated. The house was spotlessly clean and the bedroom was very comfortable with all that we needed. Breakfast was plentiful with a good choice of food and drink. We have no hesitation recommending a stay here.

PortugalThe only weak point is the slow WiFi (signal in the rooms are fine, but the connection is slow), however I would argue that this is a place to relax and unplug, so not really an issue for me.
Great place to relax and unplug from modern life. It is located away from modern life in a rural/traditional house, but still with modern comforts. Close to a national park and nature. Room was good, with modern shower and heating/AC. But attention, this is a place to get away, there are no bars/restaurants in the village, and will you need an independent transportation, so if night life is something you are looking for maybe this place is not ideal for you.

PortugalMy stay was very brief as I chose the hotel for my SEF/AIMA Immigration meeting in Bragança the next day. I have nothing to add from my outstanding experience.
Guest hospitality lounge and morning breakfast were very nicely stocked and provided many nutritious options. The history and adaptive reuse of the barn and home into an inviting and modern boutique hotel is outstanding.

PortugalSince it is in a very quiet village and we came during the low season, there was not any place to eat within walking distance. With a car, it was not a problem for us, but just be aware that you may have to drive to find a cafe or a restaurant.
An amazingly charming inn located about 15 minutes outside of Bragança. It is in a very quiet village and that is exactly what we were looking for, a place to enjoy a restful weekend but close enough to the town. There was coffee and tea available all day, the room was comfortable, the interior of the house (a remodeled stone house) is incredibly charming and beautiful. And there is EV charger which was a big bonus for us!

PortugalAlthough Braganca is about eight kilometers away, at night those 8km seem way too far.
The quiet rural setting, the comfort and seclusion were truly remarkable. Additionally the staff was absolutely delightful, and engaging.

United StatesThis was the most exceptional renovation of an old stone rural property we have ever seen. Absolutely deluxe. Situated in a quiet village only minutes from a small city—the perfect combination.

United KingdomTea and coffee making facilities in the room would have been nice due to the fact that there was nowhere outside to get any. We were not prepared for such isolation but that contributed to our experience.
Breakfast was excellent, in fabulous converted farm buildings in a unique location. Meixedo is 8km outside Breganca set in the hills amongst sheep farms and vineyards. Whilst the village is Old Portugal, it is trying to attract visitors but currently the village has no facilities. We loved it

United KingdomNothing at all. It was perfect
Candelas do Souto is a lovely converted farm house. It has lots of charm from the outside and is modern and clean inside. There are areas inside the property that show parts of the buildings history and old working life. There is a small but beautiful garden at the back of the property that is perfect for relaxing in.

SpainThere was nothing to dislike.
This is a truly beautiful hotel which is an old stone dwelling which has been renovated and modernised but without losing its historical character. The rooms are very tastefully decorated, large, clean and comfortable; there is also space to park. Our room had a door that opened directly on the garden where there are chairs and tables where clients can relax. Its historical worth is augmented by the fact that it is partly a museum to the past which means it is not only there to make money from its clients. Diana, who works at the reception, could not have been more friendly and helpful. The breakfast is varied and the rooms very quiet and the hotel is within easy driving distance of Bragança (a city well worth spending a few days in). All in all this was a very positive and enjoyable experience.

PortugalWifi is not very potent but still considered reasonable if you see where you are on the maps. Personally, I would have some colourful decorations on the walls and nice paintings but that is a matter of taste.
Very nice staff with local knowledge. Breakfast was more than sufficient and good coffee. The room is spacious and wonderful bathroom, beds are great too. Wonderful place for hiking in Montesinho area and local restaurants in and around Bragança with good food.

United KingdomThe fact that apart from providing breakfast there was no other meals offered and we could not prepare our own food in a kitchen. It was a 20 minute drive down to Bragança to have dinner.
The feeling of being in a genuine village in an old building that had been beautifully restored. The place was spotlessly clean.
