Breakfast at the hotel was excellent! The staff made you feel very welcomed and at home. The room was modern with touch lights and Alexa.

Beautifully remodeled rooms in an old building located in the heart of the city within walking distance to restaurants, shopping and historical sites. All modern conveniences and wonderful breakfasts provided by friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay again. Really great value.

It was on the pricier side, luckily I got an upgrade so I was happy with my room. However had we not got one I don't know whether the room would have justified the cost

The hotel communication was overkill. Just to much information for us, to high frequency and also it created the impression to stay in a „robot hotel“ without any staff (which is surely not the case, the staff was very helpfull and attentive). Also in the room there was a leavelet with even more rules and communication (all the stickers and info papers with prices for shopping bags asside). At the end for us it created the emmotion of not beeing free or treated like a little child.

Our „Retreat“ was really great. The room was very spacious and offered a lot of comfort. Beds were comfortable and technology made the room somewhat exciting. Interior is tastefully selected and is of good quality. Breakfast was individually prepared and high standard. A lot of communication….. but see below. Parking is next to the hotel, but charged with 15€ per day….

- There's no fridge in the room, which can be quite unpractical if you plan to spend more than a couple of days at Canto de Luz and would like to buy yourself some water / drinks to keep in your room. - There's no hanger anywhere in the bathroom for your towels / bathrobe - There's no bar service in the building - this is definitely not necessary, but with such an amazing location, kitchen and garden, we felt it was a pity not to have the chance to have a couple of drinks - You can't smoke on the balcony, so for someone like me who booked the room with exterior to be able to do that, it was a bit of a surprise - I would unhook the furniture from the balcony's deck as it prevents you from moving anything around

Amazing place, amazing staff and overall beyond our expectations. We really had an awesome time at Canto de Luz and believe it's the perfect choice of anyone, like us, travelling in pair for a romantic time. The breakfast is INCREDIBLY GOOD and the morning service is calm and kind which helps to start your day in the best possible way. A couple of pointers in the other section, that I hope will be well received and in my eyes would bring this place from a 9 to a 10

The automatic system for room controls such as lighting, fans, aircon, heat etc was irritating. E.g.The lights were motion sensitive and turned on all the time. No way we could set the system to our manual controls. A couple of the functions weren't operating correctly. E.g. the aircon turned on out of the blue.

Everything from the pre-arrival to the last moment at the property was superb. The design of the boutique hotel is brilliant and the staff truly make you feel like you are home. We traveled with our daughter (4 months old) and the hotel provided a very comfy cot and a baby bath (the first time that I have seen this in a hotel - it was a great addition!). Additionally, the hotel is “smart” in the sense that there are codes for the front door and bedroom, Alexa music and digitally controlled lighted and ac in the room. The hotel also has a WhatsApp function, where you can request recommendations or assistance with bookings, cabs etc - not the first time that I have seen this, but one of the first times where they were fast to respond and very helpful.

Beautiful hotel, the rooms are modern and a joy to stay at and the beds very comfortable. The staff is lovely, Thais showed us all the amenities the room has to offer and suggestions to go around town. One of the favorite hoteles I’ve ever stayed at!

In the early morning, the birds (seagulls) get very loud, so you have to close the balcony. There was construction work on an adjoining house next to the building, but we understand that this is temporary. The rest - all very good.

We had upgraded rooms. Very comfortable, newly equipped. Very comfortable beds and quality facilities in the room. Very good sound insulation. The balcony door opens wide, making it very cozy. Wonderful breakfast (best of all the hotels visited in Portugal during our trip), very friendly and helpful staff.

All was excellent

Lovely spacious room. We had Garden 2 room on the 2nd floor. Lift available. The bed was extremely comfortable, the shower and facilities perfect. Breakfast was fresh and varied each day with fresh fruits, artisan breads, cakes, eggs, ham and cheese, yoghurts and muesli. Thais and the staff were very helpful and we had an amazing meal at a fish restaurant booked and recommended by Thais. Nothing was too much trouble. Alexa in our room was an added bonus so we were able to choose our own music and radio stations.

Canto De Luz is a beautiful small hotel located perfectly on a quiet street but easily walkable to all the attractions in Porto. We stayed in Urban Retreat 2 which was well suited for our family of three. Best bed and sleep we had during our extensive trip to this wonderful country. We greatly enjoyed generous and delicious breakfasts as well as the lovely and professional staff. Highly recommend.
