Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandAll was perfect.
Everything! The location is beautiful, the house is cosy and there were small notes everywhere for us to find, as well as local home made sweet! It was the perfect quiet location to rest and discover Madeira. Communication with the host was great!

We enjoyed our stay very much. First was super warm welcome, which amazed us. House itself was sparcling clean and freshly renovated. No humidity smell or sign. Comfortable beds, blanckets and pillows. Kitchen area has normal size oven, coffee maker etc. Hot water. And location 😍. Surroundings are beautyful and quiet. Nearest Seixal beach is the best. You need car to get there, but we also did this path by foot. Once 😆 Thank you. Hope to come back.

PolandUpon our arrival, we were immediately embraced by a sense of warmth and hospitality. The host went above and beyond, leaving us cute notes and surprises that made us feel truly special. Casa da Nogueira is situated in a magical location and the stunning views from the garden are truly breathtaking! Not only was the house clean and cozy, but it was also equipped with everything we could have possibly needed. Our time at the house was perfect, leaving us with cherished memories of our stay in Madeira ❤️

PolandThe kitchen is rather small, but has all the equipment you need. There is a washing machine and a dryer in the room next door, which is a godsend after hiking in Madeira in bad weather in the mountains. Beds are very comfortable. The house is located a few kilometers from the beach in Seixal. There is a river nearby where you can try fishing. And the most important - really amazing host!

NetherlandsSmall workplace in kitchen (note that this applies to the kitchen indoors as in Summer you have plenty of space outside).
Very friendly owners who had made all kinds of homemade food and drinks and who responded fast on every message. Nice old house that has been renovated to modern comforts. Quiet location in a beautiful valley.

Czech RepublicSome local cats were stealing food from the kitchen :-D
The owners really care for their customers. The invitation was beautiful - homemade cake, pastries, eggs... Everything was clean, beautifully arranged. The place is better for someone who is seeking for a quite space in mountains, but Seixal and the sea are also near (by car).

PolandMaybe sometimes were a little bit cold inside but there is a chimney which I suppose we could use. The most important is that during the night was warm because of warm duvet and blanket. But if you go there in the "winter" - bring a warm clothes with you! We did it, so we were fine! :)
This place is soo amazing! We loved how we were welcomed, even though we didn't meet the host personally. Mariana prepered for us delicious chocolate cake and another dessert, plus so cute info in our local language! We really enjoy the privacy there at all. The contact with the host was really good. So quick response and additional recommendations what we should visit in the area. The location is perfect. Be careful that there is no restaurant or market reachable on foot but there are so many other advantages of this place! Beautiful mornings, completely silence during the night, stunnig mountain views... additionaly you can make a walk from house to Fanal! It's really challenging way but if you're in good physical condition - go for it! :) In the kitchen is everything what you need to prepare breakfast or dinner. So nice that coffee, tea, sugar, pepper, salt and oil is already there! And the washing machine and dryer - so helpful during longer stay! All of the detergents were there too! We loved the cat which sleeped near the house entrance every day and was waiting for us after our trips! :) Aww... it's impossible to mention everything here. There is so unique climate - you have to check it in person! :) Especially check this comfortable bed and pillows - nice dreams guaranteed.

United KingdomNearby town, Seixal is crowded with cars, coaches and people. The supermarket is almost useless, but none of this is insurmountable as nearby Ponta Delgada is a delight with its charming new swimming pool with nearby cafes and restaurants. Better shops are found in Sao Vincente, also not far away..
Very quiet, peaceful location and a well appointed little house. Beautiful location in a stunning valley. With its own barbecue in a covered exterior cooking, eating and relaxing area, visitors can choose how to spend their evenings.

RomaniaEverything is done with care and thoughtfulness, so even if always are things to be improved , I would not change anything just because it's unique in it's charm.
Madeira surprised us at every step, so did this cute little home. We wanted to experience a mountain location after a few days at the beach, and we don't regret the choice we made with Casa da Nogueira. We love the places that will always remain in our memory, and this was one. The small village in which the house is located is very charming and can be explored by foot or on a morning run, we did both and we loved it! unfortunately we didn't have the time to do the trail that starts at the end of the road, we just walked a bit through the woods and it was recharging. So, excelent location, quiet, remote but still close to everyting , lush and relaxing. The house is cosy and welcoming, with very nice details and decorated with love. Everything you need you can find in the kitchen, clean, enough space and made us feel like home. There is not a lot of natural light in the living room but with the doors wide open you can have the cold breeze inside along with a bit of sun 🙂 the neighbors cat was always waiting for us and we loved this ❤️ the host was wonderful, even if we did not meet, we felt the warm welcome in the nice messages left in the house along with the homemade sweets, Thank you!!! And I hope you'll continue to share this care and warmth with all future guests. So come here with your heart open and just enjoy it!
