Nice little house in good location for exploring this part of Portugal.

Very little work space in the kitchen, no dishwasher. I found it a bit lonely for the solo traveler.

Friendly Paula, the caretaker was there in a minute after I called to say I'd arrived and showed me around the house. There was fresh bread, cheese and a bottle of wine as welcome gift, very nice touch. During my stay it was cold and rainy for some days, fortunately the mobile heaters in combination with the wood stove made the house comfortably warm. Wood for the first night was there but after that you'll have to buy it yourself at the supermarket. Okay, just good to know. The house is in traditional Alentejo style, cutely decorated with lots of ceramics and textiles from the region. Kitchen is basic but everything there to make a meal. The little patio is nice to have a drink or a meal. Good bed, comfortable sitting area. Good wifi. The village has not much to offer but supermarkets and places to do groceries, have coffee, drinks and meals just a short ride away in Reguengos de Monsaraz, where there's also a Mercado Municipal for fresh fish and vegetables. Location is great for visiting this part of Alentejo and there are some nice hikes to do in the area as well. Visit Evora on Saturday, there's a farmers market outside the Mercado Municipal, really worthwhile. Visit one of the wine houses for a vineyard and wine tasting tour, some have a restaurant or cafe to have a meal afterwards, for instance Herdade do Esperão. Visit São Pedro do Corval and the Casa do Barro, for the traditional ceramics. And last but not least Monsaraz is worth a visit as well.

There’s a wonderful garden with open views to the countryside and it was very quiet.
