Beautifully renovated townhouse, truly amazing. No wonder that it received a prize for it. It was only when I asked the host about the origin of the name ‘house of the architect’ that I was told this is a family house of one of the most revered Portuguese architect and of worldwide fame. The location is fantastic - in the city centre with ‘parque das virtudes’ nearby and the river Douro. Continental breakfast, included in the price, was superb. Andressa is a super host, very helpful.

The rooms were stunning! So charming and beautiful decorating. One of them had a terrace with a coffee station and complimentary drinks! The best part was Daniela! She recommended a lot of places to eat and explore and every single one of her recommendations were excellent! She marked up a map for us, which was so helpful when navigating around Porto.

We could have used a little more space to pack out our clothes.

We loved everything about this hotel. The room was beautiful, the bed comfortable, the breakfast outstanding, the staff super accommodating and attentive. If we're ever back to Porto, we'll stay here again.

Very spacious room. Abundant breakfast. Very easy self check-in.Daniela is an excellent host. She helped us a lot with maps to explore the city, with parking garage, as it is difficult to find one at this part of the city. She won us over with her kindness!

I have no negative comments.

It was a joy to return to our beautiful, light-filled room each day after sightseeing. The combination of contemporary furniture and historic architectural details was lovely. It also had great amenities and the breakfasts were tasty and generous. It was also a great location for visiting other sites and restaurants. I would highly recommend staying at Casa do Arquiteto!

Had my diffuculty with the shower - i'm sure the issue is resolved by now. The room I stayed in is next to the entrance and it does get rather loud when people enter the building. I don't recommend booking that room for light sleepers (it is rather annoying tbh).

Everything was exceptional. Am recommending the place to everyone who is planing on going to Porto. Finally a Hotel with a real historic touch!

Casa do Arquiteto is a beautiful refuge in the middle of busy Porto. Spacious, clean, artfully restored and tastefully furnished, it provided a perfect place to stay. Daniela is a gracious and thoughtful host - most helpful in every way. We highly recommend this property!

Beautifully restored townhouse, with a huge room, comfortable bed, coffee machine, a mini fridge with free soft drinks, architecture monographs in the room and a huge TV. Great breakfast, with fresh cooked eggs, bacon. Access to a little garden with evening sun. Friendly and helpful staff. Useful app with info about restaurants etc. Close to a delightful public park with peacocks, and to one of the two tourist trams.

Although the location is only a ten to fifteen minute walk to most places of interest, it did feel a bit “out of the way”, but worth it for the way we were looked after.

Every detail that makes a stay more enjoyable has been thought about and provided for by the amazing Daniela, who owns and runs the house.

Fabulous, helpful staff member at every stage of our stay... Before we got there and until we left. We were given a comprehensive and clear overview of the area, what we could see and how best to get there. The facilities in our room were well thought out. It was lovely, clean and very comfortable. Good selection of drinks topped up every day. Plenty of nice clean towels and daily housekeeping was good. Tram right outside the door and excellent bus links. Easy to walk everywhere too. Nice places to eat locally

The townhouse is superbly located, a short walk to a lot of different places and right beside the historic tram. The house itself is magnificent and the rooms are airy and very nicely decorated. The staff was exceptionally nice and always very helpful. Also, the breakfast is great and prepared us well for our days. We enjoyed the stay and would be back!

This house is absolutely gorgeous! I was in love with all of the architectural and design details. Everything felt very high quality- towels, sheets, etc. As a clean freak, I will say they do an amazing job cleaning and dusting! Usually I see dust everywhere when I stay somewhere, but not here. It was so quiet and peaceful- it’s a busy street but you would not know it from the inside. You really feel as though you have a secret hideaway in the city. I cannot say enough good things and will definitely be back. The managers- Daniela and Iryana- were both so helpful and kind. Thank you both!
