Could not rate Casa do Romezal more highly. Truly one of the highlights of our trip. Absolutely magical setting and Luis and Margarida are incredibly warm and helpful. Would strongly encourage booking a wine tasting on the property with Luis during your stay.

The 300m climbing up to the Casa with the car is a bit stressfu at first,l but after the 2nd climb you get used to it, even in the dark.

Margarida was lovely and took excellent care of us. The view from the room is priceless. A lovely pool: clean and cold water helped us through the heat. The facilities and suite design is lovely. The location: 5 minutes drive from Pesua da Regua. Luis gave us a very nice wine tour through the Winery and we bought some nice wines/port to take home with us.

Walking the hill into town for a supermarket but would do it again. 😀 and one cannot blame them for the local geography.

Owner and staff were exceptionally accommodating. Facility was very clean with a spectacular View. One of the best wine tours we have experienced at their Vineyard. A short taxi ride from the train station and you are in a beautiful setting. Unconditionally recommended. Best part of our 2 week trip to Portugal.

Gorgeous little house with an amazing terrace and two pools, very nice hosts, fantastic breakfast, great wine... You should stay at least 2 nights to explore the region. Go to the viewpoint in Galafura for sunrise, it's worth getting up at 5 in the morning!

It was wonderful in every way. Just be aware, there is a very steep driveway, you have to climb to get to the location but, that's probably everywhere in Douro because it is all steep valley!

Stunning location. Delicious and home-made breakfast. We had the whole house to ourselves because we booked all three rooms. I highly recommend doing the same if you are with a large family or friends. It can't be beat. The host is an absolute doll. Very sweet and so accommodating.

Are you kidding?

This was one of the most amazing stays that we have had in many years of European travel. Margarida was the consummate host with a heart of gold and a wealth of information on exploring the area. The breakfast was superbly presented by Ana. The view over a tributary of the Douro was spectacular. The entire hillside facility was built with the utmost attention to detail, affording a perfectly comfortable stay.

Basically the perfect little spot to get away. From the fresh carrot cake we were treated to on arrival to the stunning views, the perfect pool loungers and all the great tips from our host - there is nothing to fault and everything to praise here. I’d gladly recommend Casa do Romezal to anyone visiting the area. (and of course do a tasting and tour at Gueda Wines!)

Margarida and Luis are incredibly thoughtful hosts and made sure to check in regularly to ensure that everything was ok. The location is beautiful and quiet, and the bungalows have everything you need to relax while in the Douro valley. Make sure to do a wine / port / olive oil tasting with Luis while you're there. We cooked dinner both nights as the bungalows come complete with a full kitchen.

Margarida the owner is such a lovely and caring person. She really makes you feel like home, but with a waaaay better view than at home. The pool area + view (sunset view!) is stunning. For breakfast you get a basket full of goods lovely prepared. The location is perfect if you want to explore the area (close to a bigger town and close to the scenic routes). The surrounding / landscape is overwehlming, the view from our room was breathtaking. It's just a real great place to stay. Highly recommended!
