Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaOur only regret was that the winery itself was closed due to the owner (Margarida's brother) being on vacation. We did drink one of the wines available in our bungalow, and it was excellent.
Margarida was absolutely wonderful! She attended to our every need and gave us perfect suggestions for wine tastings, hikes, and restaurants. We stayed in a bungalow with an exceptional view. Very clean and comfortable.

Everything about this place is amazing and beyond expectations. The host Margarida has done an exceptional job at renovating a family home to welcome you. We loved her genuine friendliness, advice and honest chats about living and growing up in Portugal. Her brother, Luis has an informative, unique and tasty wine tour experience on the property. Don't forget to book this. The quality of sleep and breakfast is top star! and the wines and olive oil are so good too.

Beautiful B&B clean, comfortable and very tasty breakfast with homemade products and cakes. Amazing view “attacks” you from every window. Best place to stay when in Douro valley. We will be back!

Staying at Casa do Romezal was the highlight of our vacation! Margarida and her Brother Luis were excellent hosts who went to great lengths to ensure our stay was special! Was great learning about the history of the vineyard and tasting the excellent wines and olive oil they produce. This experience definitely exemplified everything good about Portugal. Canadabreakfast, although not included, was unavailable so the owner brought us bread and pastries instead. The pool was so cold it was like the Arctic. And the driveway up can be a bit hairy if you're not an experienced mountain road driver from Europe
What sets Portugal apart in the post pandemic world of tourism is the fact that they’ve reached that stage in between early and fully matured tourism. This allows for exceptional service which we received in all four locations we stayed at but the proprietors, Margaride and her brother Luis stand out as above and beyond the others Beginning all the way with my reservation that was made six months ahead, Margaride continuously communicated via WhatsApp with me. Sending me a wealth of information about the area including restaurant choices, tourist attractions and answering every question I had about driving, weather, culture, wine tasting and everything else, it was beyond what I expected and then some. She also helped make dinner reservations. The property itself is stunningly gorgeous. Set on a hillside with an amazing view of the valley, the three large bungalows are large, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. There’s a small pool overlooking the valley although the water was kept insanely cold by our standards. Luis runs the wine business and arranged a tasting for us when we arrived. Explaining the industry and business in great detail, it’s a nice start to visiting the area. Although breakfast is not included, Margaride brought us local breads and pastries from the town and left them at our door. There’s full kitchen facilities should you choose to cook. Be aware that the roads of the Duoro Valley are quite narrow, very twisty and turns and hazardous at night if you’re unfamiliar with that type of driving. But do make an effort to float down the river on a ribello (the boats they used to carry wine downriver), visit Quinta Nova or other quality vineyards and explore the charming town of Lamego nearby. Priced exceptionally well for such a beautiful location, the property is beautiful and the proprietors work way too hard which benefits all their customers. Five stars and no negative comments.

Wow, what can I say! Margarida is the most gracious host. From check in to departure, very accomodating and helpful. She went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had all we needed. The breakfast she prepares is all very fresh and delicious! from the homemade jams and pastries, to eggs, fresh fruits, local cheeses, meats etc. just perfect. The inn is completely charming and comfortable. The patio has an amazing view! wow. Her brother Luis, runs the winery. He has so much passion for the property, the history, the wine, and creates some terrific wines! If you would like the personal Douro valley experience, this is the place to go.

United StatesIt is a short steep road to the gate.
Far exceed our expectations, best place we stayed in Portugal (and we did the entire country). Margarida was an incredible host. The lodging was better the some 5 stars hotels I have been in. We also got to do the wine tasting of their family wines, and hear the history of the winery, the property, and about the the family itself. It is amazing story about their journey! Margarida made you feel a part of the family. It is truly a family run business, and you can see their passion/pride. As mentioned the above, the place is spectacular where you can appreciate your surroundings. So much better then an hotel. The wine tasting with her brother was one of our favorite outing in Portugal. It is a small wine tasting room on the grounds (so make an appointment), you tour the vineyard, and then your get an education on their wines, which were excellent. He made the tasting fun. Highly recommend.

United StatesThe bungalow Apartment is amazing. The pool overlooks the vineyards and is just below your balcony with the same view of sunsets. The tasting is just a walk up a few steps and you can walk several paths in the area. Breakfast is not included if the 3 rooms in the main house are booked so plan accordingly. Marguerida gave me a small box of milk so I could make coffee in the morning. Once here you will never want to leave so I agree with the 2 night minimum stay so you can do the wine route which involves narrow winding roads. Make sure you do a full tasting here with Luis. Gueda vineyards has been operating for hundreds of years so you are supporting a small family and local workers and their families in this beautiful part of the world. Several wines are also available in the apartment to purchase. We know others were rushing to do 3 tastings in a day but when you stay here one is enough. Take a break and slow down here.
