Our stay at Casa Lira will remain in our hearts for the rest of our lives. We felt like in paradise in this house. Fatima is a wonderful person, she took care of us with all her heart. To welcome her, she prepared a delicious dinner and gave us lovely and tasty gifts. The kids were happy, and so were we the adults. The villa was equipped with everything, we lacked nothing, it was very spacious, comfortable and wonderfully decorated. Billiards, heated swimming pool, pizza oven... We already want to go back there.

Madeira is a wonderful island that we of course wanted to explore. The only negative - wich of course isn’t a negative - was that our kids liked Casa Lira so much that they didn’t want to leave it for day trips 😂😂🙈 My son just couldn’t see the point in leaving the house to explore when we already were at the perfect spot😂

I have never in my life seen my children so overwhelmed as when we arrived at Casa Lira. The look of their faces was like they had arrived in paradise, and in a way that was true😊 Fatima is one of the most loving people I have ever met and she pours all of her heart in making her guest have a wonderful stay. And she truly succeeds. We feel so lucky and treated that we had the opportunity to experience this. Everything was PERFECT AND THEN SOME.

The rainy and stormy weather for a few days in a row unfortunately didn't allow us to use the pool as much as we would have liked. I guess we have just been unlucky. Our host however tried to make things as comfortable for us as possible.

We loved the view, the space, the comfort and style and most of all the host. The host at all times tried to make the stay exceptionally comfortable and pleasing for us.

I’ve stayed at Booking, Airbnb, and VRBO homes around the world and Fatima’s Casa Lira is hands down the best of them all. Fatima is the best host…period. The house is exactly as advertised and is a pleasure to stay. It is quiet, fully furnished and has everything necessary for a long term stay. Short stays could probably be car free as the grocery and other basic amenities are within walking distance (e.g. poncha bars, pizza). A vegetable and fish truck comes by once a week. Taxi service is readily available. Longer terms stays would benefit from a rental car. Access to the main road to Funchal, Paul de Serra is easy. overall this is a fantastic house to stay.

The property is fantastic. It really made for an excellent holiday. Lots of space for a family with 2 teenagers (and 4 bathrooms). The outdoor pool, sun deck and kitchen are perfectly set up for spending the days in the sun. The pool table, bar and balcony upstairs are great for hanging out in, in the evening. The house is high on the hill so the views are spectacular and perfect for watching the sunset over the sea. The 2 kitchens (yes 2!) are very well equipped, everything needed to make meals. There is a built in BBQ/pizza oven in the poolside kitchen, all stocked with wood. The living room has a generous sofa and TV (with apps). The poolside kitchen has a large TV with apps also. There is 2 WiFi routers to cover the house, no issues with bandwidth. The bedrooms are well decorated and beds were very comfy. lots of pillows to choice from also. Fatima (host) was brilliant, so welcoming and communicative. She met us at the house on entry. She had generously stocked the house with welcome goodies. Any questions we had she answered immediately. Down the hill and around the corner is a pizzeria, cafe/bar and a couple of shops. A couple of miles away is Calheta, which has a marina/promenade with several restaurants/bars and a large supermarket. Also beaches for swimming in the sea. To get the best out of Madeira you need a rental car. This certainly works out best for enjoying the house also. We spent the week exploring the island, visiting natural swimming pools, waterfalls and rain forests. We went canyoning and fly fishing for trout. The restaurants were very good and never had a bad meal. One if the best Holidays we had as a family.

We spent unforgettable holidays in Madeira in Casa Lira. The owner Fatima is fantastic friendly warm person who was taking care of us through whole our stay. She was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and nice places to visit, making sure we have everything we need and we are fully satisified with staying at Casa Lira. House, including kitchens is very well equipped and spacious, blooming flowers around the house smell amazing, pool is warm and view from terrace is breathtaking, you can watch ocean and sunsets. We arrived far after midnight and even that late we were welcomed by Fatima personally with tones of snacks, wine, champaign and fruits. The house has great location in quiet location, close both to Levadas and sea shore, and town. We definitely can recommend the house for people appreciating comfort and those who allow for being spoiled by sweet and helpful Fatima.

The place is wonderful! It has everything you need: swimming pool, pool table, wondeful terrace, three bathrooms and sleeping rooms, nice view over the ocean, lots of space and much more. And the house hostess Fatima is the loveliest person on earth! This is simply an excellent place!

Off course, it's a beautiful place with plenty of quality equipments: bbq, pool with stuning view, pizzas oven, billard, charming bed and bathrooms...but the most important thing : you NEVER met one incredibly host like Fatima...Go there Fast ! (i never make trip reviews )

The good reviews of Casa Lira are true. A place worth recommending. Everything at a high level. We are especially pleased with the swimming pool, large kitchen and bedroom. The gifts left by the owner are just a great addition to a successful holiday. Thank you Fatima (attached photo of welkoming gifts, the table full of food and wine)

We stayed in the Lira house for 5 nights and it was one of the best holiday we ever had. House is very spacious and clean, kitchen is very well equiped and you have everything you would possibly need on a holiday. There is a clean outdoor pool with warm water and a spectacular view to the ocean. The host is super sweet and her hospitality is execeptional. We felt very welcomed and we recommend this place from our heart.
