No one wss there when we arrived. Apparently the manager had gone to the market. Did not appear until an hour and a half later. Communication was tricky because the lady manager spoke little English and me even less Portuguese

No sign of the guest house. The reception(?)is situated the otherside of the building (in the picture) Your room is in the other side of the building, 1st floor. The ground floor used bd a restaurant but closed. The entrance to your unit is shared with the entrance to the empty restaurant hall. However , not a big deal. Just one down thing for me was no Wifi. There is, but low signal. Connected but no internet status.

On the way of Camino. If you walk all the way from Porto and don't want to end up in Labruge, this is the spot to stop and rest. The beaufitul seeside. Very kind staff.

It would have been nice to have a better idea via photos in the listing of what the exterior looked like to help find the place. As it was, we were blundering around looking for it and a man who didn't seem to recognize the name Casa Velha nor the name of the person we'd messaged with, urged us to go to a certain house and ring the bell. Long story short, there was a fair bit of confusion all around but it all worked out. I also felt the price was quite high compared to other properties in the area with better amenities.

Despite the language barrier, our host was delightfully kind and helpful. There are no grocery stores or mini-markets nearby, so he offered to drive us to one that would be a longish walk but a quick car trip. He was all set to just get up and go right away. The room is close to the Camino route we were walking; it was nice to finish walking for the day then basically just cross the street to the accommodation. The room and ensuite were immaculately clean.

no signs anywhere. a neighbor pointed it out to us (and asked for money). You're in someone's house and walls are rather thin..

The bedroom and bathroom are cold, but there is a solution with the heater provided. Water pressure and temperature changes in shower, but the lady does explain that.

The lady was very nice who checked me in. It is right on the Camino Portugues pathway. There is coffee/drinks and food nearby.

Only 2 minutes of hot water. Paper thin walls I heard every word the neighbor said on their phone call home. No dining or grocery store in the area.

The rates are increasing and this makes staying here less attractive.

We have stayed here before and we knew it was good for a one night stay, so we didn’t have to walk from Porto to Vila do Conde in one day. The room is fine - clean and comfortable. There are some restaurants close by.

It was a little hard to find as it is at the back of a restaurant and the owner does not speak English but we managed.

The room was very comfy and just what we needed with a grood bathroom en suite. There is a balcony that you can see the see from- the view is lovely. Fab restaurant just below and a quiet place overall. Good security too.

The shower has been leaking for some time as evident by the staining on the ceiling below. The leak makes the tile in the entry very slippery and I fell. Someone more frail could be hurt.

After giving me my keys on check-in, I didn't see any of the staff/owners again, to ask e.g. about checkout, local dinner or breakfast options (breakfast not being provided). Unclear if guests were allowed to use little kitchen or take bottled water there (I did not). Perhaps I I spoke fluent Portuguese, all would have been made clear on check-in. I found a stamp on the table when I came down the next morning & stamped my own pilgrim. credencial but wasn't sure if that was expected. Green room & bathroom decor a little dated & with double & single bed in room not much room for manoeuvre or to put down & open suitcases. Compared to other Portuguese Camino accommodation, quite expensive for what you got.

Big room, but not so much space. It was the last day of our trip so we needed to pack our suitcases right, and it was possible after moving the furniture around a bit. But yeah, the second bad was making this task a bit more difficult. The bed was very interesting, I still can't get if I like it or not, but probably not because it was a bit noisy on each movement. The chairs look super cool, but a bit tricky to use.

We wanted to spend the last day of our trip to Portugal next to the ocean and we got that. The balcony from which you can see the ocean was a very nice thing. The bathroom was quite good. The common part of the apartments felt like the hosts just left it for you yesterday. Small but nice kitchen. Very good dining table with the option to enjoy the meal in front of TV set (we were too tired after Porto :D). The private parking was not maybe necessary, but still a nice feature - you can literally put suitcases from the car into the house.

The matress on the double bed could be changed, it Is a bit used and not very comfortable. I missed a cutting board in the kitchen.

The proximity of the ocean was magical. Reasonable price. Kind host who unfortunately doesn't speak English but thanks to sign language and google translator we were fine.

Booked a room and a flat, it was not clear that the two were in separate locations quite far apart.

Friendly reception, good value, right on the beach, truly exceptional restaurant next door.
