A charming and welcoming place for those whose emphasis is on nature rather than luxury. The swimming pool was big enough to swim in circles :) The blooming gardens were a real pleasure and the scenery was fantastic. Exceptionally clean with all we needed. The access by car was a little challenging but became part of the charm of Casas Tipicas Lovely helpful and welcoming hosts. Thank you to Leo and Amnon

The water pressure in the shower is a bit low, but I've had worse.

This is the best place ever. The views are breathtaking and the garden is beautiful. There's a small pool which is very clean and surrounded by amazing scenery. The beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen is very well equipped. We had most of our meals at the table outside, the weather was brilliant most of the time- even in February. The owner Amnon was lovely and gave us some great tips for things to do. There are two levada walks that start only a few minutes away- we enjoyed them so much that we did both of them twice. Driving to the property was quite an experience the first time as it is so narrow and steep, but you get used to it quite quickly. We're definitely hoping to be back one day.

Everythink there is fantastic and magical. View is amazing I never seen somethink such beautiful. House is very cute and confortable. I appreciate that for longer visit they gave us more towels, house was very clean too. Owners are very nice friendly helpful and very cute. In this place is also magical garden with amazing flowers, pool is nice and clean, localisation is fantastic. I love this place so much, for sure we will back to Madeira and Casas Tipicas. The best place in whole world

Wonderful and simply place with amazing view to the mountains and the ocean from windows and terrace. Grill zone was very useful for us. I found some comments about very steep road. I rented D cattegory car (VW T-Rock) and we didn't have any problems. And also our neighbours was arrived with very small car like Fiat Panda etc. So everything was fine and mountains and the ocean view + grill zone redeems the steep road. Highly recommended. The price is very competitive

Please note, that in the 4-person house the bathroom is accessed through the bedroom which was a bit uncomfortable, but didn't significantly affect our stay.

Really great, lovely hosts. Amazing location and an unearthly beautiful view. A very cosy place to stay, equipped with everything you might need. There is a really nice garden and a small, clean swimming pool. There is also a local shop/cafe/bar within a 5-minute walk. I totally recommend this place!

The location was great, I mean the view was amazing and the quiet environment. Facility was perfect as well - all you need for such place and our purpose (equipped kitchen, terrace, pool if you want to use it…). The host was nice as well, very smooth communication:) Simply great value for the price!

Madeira is famous for its narrow lanes and this was no exception. To access the property we would drive down our lane as slowly as possible with my wife leaning out of the window on her side of the car, calling out distance from the various water gullys and stone walls. To be fair I was driving a left hand drive vehicle which I am not used to, and the locals drove down the lane at much faster speeds. The only other thing we did not like was beyond the owners control. Noise carries in such an open and quiet area and there was a JCB with a jack hammer attached working non-stop down in the valley. Not a problem when in the room or indeed touring the Island but we deliberately chose Casas Tipicas for its lovely gardens to sit, relax and sunbathe. Even on Saturday when we hoped he would not be working, he was, He is bound to stop at lunch time! He didn,t. 2pm, 3pm 4pm 5pm, 6pm, on he went and finally stopped at 7pm. I even tried ear plugs laid in the garden but that noise got inside your head. We would love to stay at Casa Tipica again but I would ask the question about rock drilling before I did.

The views from the property were superb, as we turned the corner of the building to see the view for the first time we both went "Wow" The gardens were glorious in colour from all the flowers. Apartment well equipped with everything we needed. Two levada walks which you could walk to within two minutes and another, just five minute drive a way. Despite its out of the way location it was around a five minute deive to Ribeira Brava town centre with all the shops. Fifteen minute drive to Calheta sandy beach.

Everything was perfect. Excellent host - very helpful, kind and accommodating. Absolutely stunning ocean view in the middle of the countryside. Lovely decent size pool. Would love to return.
